EPL pick today: Newcastle United +0.5 over Manchester United (-280), 11:30 am ET
It is only a month since Manchester United beat Newcastle in the League Cup final, but this morning’s EPL game is a good opportunity for the Magpies to take revenge. They had been stuttering in their quest to get into the top 4 but wins over Wolves and Nottingham Forest have steadied the ship. They have also only lost to Liverpool and Manchester City this season, so they are tough to beat.
Manchester United on the other hand, lost 7-0 at Liverpool in its last away game and tends to struggle against the stronger teams on the road this term. The visitors may not possess the required firepower to greatly trouble a Newcastle defense that has posted 7 home shutouts this season, therefore backing Newcastle to win or draw will be out play this morning.

MLB pick today: Atlanta Braves vs Washington Nationals – Over 9 runs (-105), 1:35 pm ET
Atlanta and Washington square off in the final game of their three-game series and the Braves have a 2-0 series lead. Atlanta has proved they can score some runs, winning the first game 7-2 and the second game 7-1. They were facing some very bad pitching and MacKenzie Gore is arguably the best pitcher they will have faced. Gore could contain the Braves while he is on the field, but the Nats bullpen can’t hold a lead if they are lucky enough to have one. With both pitchers being relatively unproven, backing the over will be the play this afternoon.

NHL pick today: New Jersey Devils vs Winnipeg Jets – Under 6.5 goals (-120), 7:00 pm ET
This evening features a great matchup between 2 playoff-caliber teams. Both team ranks within the top 10 in terms of goals allowed per game. The only negative for this approach is the fact that New Jersey will have been on the ice less than 24 hours prior. Even if the Devils don’t have an optimal goaltender situation, part of them allowing the 5th-fewest goals per game is the fact that they also allow the 5th-fewest shots per game.
As for the Jets, they have the luxury of facing a more fatigued Devils group of skaters while having an elite goaltender in Connor Hellebuyck. Winnipeg allows the 10th-fewest shots per game, yet he has the 3rd-most saves in the NHL. In an important game for both sides, backing the under will be the play as we expect a strong defensive performance for both the Jets and Devils.

MLB pick today: Philadelphia Phillies vs Texas Rangers – Over 8.5 runs (-120), 7:08 pm ET
Of course it is only a couple games into the season, but the Phillies and Rangers have shown a lot offensively thus far. There is plenty of star power in each lineup which also typically looks good for the over.
The Rangers’ game totals last season averaged 8.95 runs, while Phillies’ games averaged 8.84 runs and they both picked up right where they left off last season. The combination of productive hitting and just okay pitching fostered high totals last season, and looks poised to bring more high totals this season. Because of the pure matchup between these two strong lineups, backing the over is worth a play tonight.
