Newcastle has played just 3 games this month compared to Manchester United’s 7 and the spot looks much better for the underdogs. For that reason, backing Newcastle to win the cup, which includes an extra-time or shootout win, will be the play.

NHL pick today: Washington Capitals vs Buffalo Sabres – Over 6.5 goals, 1:00 pm ET
If there’s one thing that the Sabres can bank on, it’s their high-powered offense. Led by Tage Thompson, Buffalo is the 3rd-highest scoring team in the NHL.
However, the Sabres have needed their strong offense to carry them, as they’ve also allowed the 3rd-most goals per game since the calendar turned to 2023. With the Capitals now having Alex Ovechkin back on the ice, they too can contribute towards a high-scoring game. For that reason, backing the over will be the play.

XFL pick today: Arlington Renegades +5 over Houston Roughnecks (-110), 7:00 pm ET
Week 2 of the XFL season will conclude tonight with a game between the Houston Roughnecks and Arlington Renegades. Oddsmakers have the Roughnecks as around a 5-point favorite, and that number seems too steep. It feels like an overreaction to Houston’s 33-12 win in its opener which was helped by the fact that Paxton Lynch was the starting quarterback for their opponents.
The Renegades have a very stout defensive front and held Vegas to just 1.7 yards per rush attempt. They should make life tough on Brandon Silvers, therefore backing them to cover will be the play.

MLS pick today: Seattle Sounders ML over Colorado Rapids (-130), 8:00 pm ET
Home advantage could be crucial for Seattle Sounders, who can make a winning start to their MLS campaign. Last season, Seattle won 9 of their 17 home league games, whereas Colorado struggled on their travels, winning just 1 of their 17 road games. Because of the struggles that the Rapid have had on the road, backing the Sounders to win will be the play.
