Manchester City to win to nil over Wolves (+120), 7:30 am ET
The best offense in the EPL takes on one of the weakest attacking units in the division at Molineux where Wolves, with just 3 goals from 6 league games, host a Manchester City team who has scored 20 times in their first half-dozen matches.
City showed their quality again in the Champions League on Wednesday when defender John Stones and star striker Erling Haaland came up with brilliant late strikes to seal a 2-1 win against Borussia Dortmund.
Kevin De Bruyne scored four of the champions’ goals in last season’s 5-1 victory at Molineux but the Wolves defense is usually tougher than that so City may have to work hard for the three points this time around.
Wolves boss Bruno Lage is still struggling to find a consistent goal threat with Sasa Kalajdzic injured and fellow new signing Diego Costa unlikely to start. Wolves have failed to score in 3 of their last 5 matches, against Tottenham, Fulham and Bournemouth, so City should win the game with a shutout.
Newcastle to win to nil over Bournemouth (+130), 10:00 am ET
Like Manchester City, Newcastle have a great chance of a win and a shutout when they face Bournemouth at St. James’ Park.
Magpies coach Eddie Howe has set up a solid defense since taking charge during the 2021-22 EPL season and they have a great record at home, winning eight of their last 11 league matches on their own patch.
Howe’s former club Bournemouth has already changed managers this season, sacking Scott Parker just 4 games into the campaign, and interim boss Gary O’Neil led them to a dramatic 3-2 win at fellow promoted side Nottingham Forest last time out.
However, the Cherries scored with their only 3 shots on target at the City Ground and, having failed to find the net in their previous 4 matches against Wolves, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, they may struggle to land a blow at Newcastle.
Tottenham vs Leicester over 2.5 goals (-174), 12:30 pm ET
Two teams with something to prove meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and there should be plenty of goals when Spurs face Leicester.
The Foxes are bottom of the EPL standings after losing 5 games on the spin and it will take a much-improved performance for them to snap that streak at Tottenham.
However, Leicester poses a serious goalscoring threat with a front 3 of James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Harvey Barnes, and strikers Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka in reserve, and they can contribute to an entertaining matchup.
Spurs may feel a little jaded after their midweek Champions League trip to Portugal, where they conceded 2 late goals to lose at Sporting, and over 2.5 goals looks the best bet.
Antonio Conte’s offensive stars have not been at their best this season but Tottenham are still averaging 2 goals per game in the EPL and they should create chances against a vulnerable Leicester defense.
