After a dramatic English Premier League gameweek last time out which saw Liverpool and Arsenal lose, handing the advantage to Manchester City in the title race, the trio are in action again this weekend. There are also crucial clashes in the relegation battle on Saturday, with Brentford visiting Luton and Sheffield United hosting Burnley. Brentford ML over Luton (+115), 10:00 am ET, Saturday
After a disappointing run, Brentford have come into form in recent weeks, securing 3 ties in a row against Manchester United, Brighton and Aston Villa before beating Sheffield United last weekend. The Bees were unlucky not to get more than 6 points from that run, considering how much they dominated some of those games. Thomas Frank’s men should be able to get compensation here though and they should be able to get the better of Luton.
The Hatters have struggled recently, losing 3 of their last 4 games, and they have a mounting injury list. On the other hand, Ivan Toney looks set to make his return for Brentford and he could be the touch of class that is the difference between these two teams. Side with Brentford to secure all 3 points as they pull away from relegation trouble in this one.
Sheffield United vs Burnley Over 3.5 goals (+165), 10:00 am ET, Saturday
Sheffield United and Burnley have both been terrible defensively this season and that trend looks set to continue in this matchup. The Blades have conceded 84 times in 32 games, the worst record in the division, and they look particularly vulnerable at home. Their last 7 EPL games at Bramall Lane have produced 4 or more goals and a repeat of that is the selection. Both teams have scored in 5 of Burnley’s last 7 road games so both teams should be able to play their part in what may be an entertaining affair.
Wolves vs Arsenal both teams to score (+170), 2:30 pm ET, Saturday
Arsenal have suffered a series of crushing blows over the last 10 days, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals and also falling to a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the EPL last Sunday. The Gunners badly need to get back on track but face a tricky trip to Wolves to face a team that can be extremely dangerous on their day. Both teams have found the net in 5 of the hosts’ last 6 games in all competitions and a repeat of that looks likely with Arsenal looking more vulnerable than usual.
