After a busy week of European action, the English Premier League returns to center stage this weekend, with Sunday’s clash between Liverpool and Manchester United the highlight. Newcastle ML over Fulham & Over 1.5 goals (+120), 10:00 am ET
Newcastle suffered Champions League heartbreak on Wednesday as they were beaten 2-1 by AC Milan to end their hopes of European soccer success. The Magpies can bounce back in this English Premier League matchup against Fulham, however. They have won 4 and tied 2 of the last 6 head-to-heads between these 2 teams and beat the Cottagers 4-1 and 1-0 last season. Eddie Howe’s men have won 7 of their 8 home games in the league this season, including 3 victories in a row at St. James’ Park against Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.
By contrast, Fulham have taken just 6 points from a possible 24 on the road this season and their 2 impressive wins in a row have both come at Craven Cottage. The Magpies have some of their injured players finally returning and are taken to win this one to put the memory of Wednesday’s loss behind them. 11 of Fulham’s last 12 games have seen more than 1 goal and their last 5 games have witnessed 26 goals, so side with over 1.5 for this bet as well.
Bournemouth ML over Luton & Over 2.5 goals (+115), 10:00 am ET
Bournemouth have been in fine form recently, winning 4 of their last 5 games to climb the English Premier League standings. Their 3-0 road win against Manchester United last time out showed how far the Cherries have come in a short space of time and they can pick up another victory when they host Luton.
The visitors have put in some solid performances in defeat recently but their road record is not the best, as they have lost 6 of their 8 games. Bournemouth should have too much for their opponents in this one and 9 of their last 11 games have seen 3 or more goals, so another high-scoring matchup looks likely.
Everton ML over Burnley (+115), 12:30 pm ET
Everton are one of the in-form teams in the EPL recently, winning 6 of their last 8 games in all competitions. They would be in the top half of the standings if it wasn’t for their 10-point deduction and they can extend their good recent run against Burnley. The Clarets have lost 12 of their 16 games this season and have one of the worst defensive records in the league. By contrast, Everton have conceded just 20 goals in 16 games, the best record outside of the top four, and are worth taking to win again.
