Crystal Palace ML over Southampton (-105), 7:30 am ET
Just 1 point separates these two teams in the current standings with Southampton currently enjoying a 3-game unbeaten run. The Saints played out a 1-1 tie with Arsenal in their last outing but may see their good run of form ended by a Palace side with a point to prove.
Patrick Vieira was far from happy with the performance of his Eagles team in their 3-0 loss to Everton last weekend and is expecting a positive response. Palace have won their last 2 games at home, beating Wolves and Leeds, and their array of attacking talent makes them a threat to a leaky Southampton defense.
The Saints have allowed 52 shots on goals in their last 3 games, only managed 1 shutout this season and have lost 4 of their 6 road engagements in the league. The likes of Wilfried Zaha and Eberechi Eze should cause major issues for Southampton and help the hosts get back to winning ways.
Chelsea ML over Brighton (+145), 10:00 am ET
Brighton are missing their old manager Graham Potter, failing to win a game since he left and their former boss could extend that winless run when he brings his new side Chelsea to town. Potter has been quick to work his magic on the Blues, who extended their unbeaten run under their new head coach to 9 games with a 2-1 win at Salzburg in the Champions League on Tuesday.
That win made it 4 in the last 5 road games for Chelsea in all competitions, while only Arsenal have collected more points on their travels than the Blues in the league so far this season. They should have little to fear from a Brighton side that’s struggling for goals, failing to score in their last 2 at home, while first-choice striker Danny Welbeck is yet to open his account for the season. They are taking time to adapt to life under new head coach Roberto De Zebri and look unlikely to end a 17-game winless run against Chelsea.
Everton tie no bet over Fulham (+126), 10:00 pm ET
Back-to-back wins have pushed Fulham up to 7th in the table and while they are finding goals easy to come by at one end, their defensive faults leave them vulnerable when hosting a well-organized Everton team. The Toffees recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Crystal Palace with striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin looking much sharper than he has done in recent months after a string of injuries, as he scored his first goal of the season.
Calvert-Lewin offers Everton the kind of serious threat they’ve been lacking at times and he should get a bit of joy out of a Fulham defense that’s conceded 22 goals this season — the 4th-highest total in the league. The Cottagers have the worst expected goals against total (25.64) in the division and are worth opposing with an Everton side that has the qualities to frustrate their hosts.
