But right now let’s break down our four-team mega parlay:

New York Islanders ML (-200)

Winnipeg Jets ML (+120)

Florida Panthers ML (-140)

Columbus Blue Jackets ML (+115)

Parlay odds: +1116

New York Islanders ML over Buffalo Sabres (-200)

The Buffalo Sabres fell to the New York Islanders by a score of 5-2 on Thursday and the box score didn’t do justice to just how outplayed the Sabres were. The Islanders had nearly three shots for every one of the Sabres’ as they outshot Buffalo 45 to 18. New York will host the Sabres for the second game of their two-game series. The Islanders have picked up points in all 10 of their home games this year and are a leagues best 8-0-2 on home ice. They have won three of their last six games and have nearly doubled the goals of their opponents in those games. The Islanders’ 30 points on the year have them in first place in the East Division while the Sabres 15 points have them in dead last.

The Sabres have lost six of their last seven while allowing a league-high 37.2 shots per game over their last six. Carter Hutton will have lost six in a row and is scheduled to get the start. After a -4 performance on Thursday, Rasmus Dahlin is now a very poor minus-21 on the year.

Winnipeg Jets ML vs Montreal Canadiens (+130)

This game features two teams that are currently heading in opposite directions. The Montreal Canadiens now have four games under their belt since they fired Claude Julien as head coach and are a 1-3 so far under Dominique Ducharme. All three of the losses have come against the Jets who have now won eight of their last 11 games. Montreal has started to play more competitive games of late but they still have only two wins in their last 10. Connor Hellebuyck is expected to start for Winnipeg and he has been one of the best goalies in the entire league. He’s currently 11-6-1 with an impressive 2.6 GAA and .915 SV%. He’s helped defeat the Habs on three separate occasions already this season. Take the Jets.

Florida Panthers ML over Nashville Predators (-140)

Jan 17, 2021; Sunrise, Florida, USA; Florida Panthers left wing Jonathan Huberdeau (11) skates with the puck during the second period against the Chicago Blackhawks at BB&T Center.

The Florida Panthers held on for a 5-4 victory over the Nashville Predators on Thursday night to bring them within one point of first place in the Central Division. Special teams proved to be the difference in this one as Florida went 2/4 with the man advantage while the Predators could not score on their two opportunities. The Predators’ penalty kill has been a concern all season long as they sit in the bottom three of the NHL in penalty-kill percentage. Look for the Panthers’ sixth-ranked power-play to find the back of the net once again on Saturday.

The Predators are only averaging 2.25 goals per game as they are only getting offensive contributions of significance from Filip Forsberg. In fact, he is the only Predator to have more than five goals this season. The Predators have particularly struggled vs top teams this year and are a dismal 1-8 against the top three teams in the Central Division

Columbus Blue Jackets ML over Dallas Stars (+115)

The Stars lost their fourth game in a row on Thursday as they fell 3-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Boone Jenner picked up a goal and an assist in the win which now has him third in team scoring with fifteen points. The Blue Jackets have been average at best this season but a two-game series vs the Stars may be just what they need to help them gain some momentum. The Stars have not scored more than three goals in 12 straight games and have just eight total goals over their last six games. It’s hard to believe that the Stars, who are 1-6-3 in their last 10 games, are favored in this one. Columbus is now 9-1 in their last 10 games vs the Stars. Getting Columbus versus a team that is in such a rut is some great value.
