EPL pick today: Newcastle ML over Liverpool (+150), 12:30 pm ET
Newcastle’s place in the EPL top 4 is looking less secure after 5 ties in 6 games, but the Magpies can get back to winning ways when Liverpool visits this afternoon. They remain unbeaten at St James’ Park this season and the Reds have been dismal travelers lately, suffering heavy losses at Brighton, Brentford and Wolves, places they would have been expected to comfortably win last season. The Reds’ defense looks shaky and they have won just twice on the road this term. For that reason, backing Newcastle to win will be the best play.

College Basketball pick today: Kansas Jayhawks -5.5 vs Baylor Bears (-110), 4:00 pm ET
In what will surely be one of the biggest games on the Big 12 calendar this season, the Kansas Jayhawks will host the Baylor Bears this afternoon in a blockbuster matchup.
Phog Allen Fieldhouse has typically been a nightmare for opposing teams, and that hasn’t changed in this rivalry, with the Jayhawks winning 16 of the 17 meetings against the Bears since 2000. Last year, Kansas had one of its most emphatic wins of the season over Baylor in a game that changed the course of the Jayhawks season en route to a national title. This time around, both teams enter the game with momentum, but it’s Kansas that has seemed to find an extra gear on both ends of the ball of late. For that reason, backing the Jayhawks to cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: New Jersey Devils ML over Pittsburgh Penguins (-115), 5:30 pm ET
The Devils and Penguins are Metro Division teams who have had much more heated battles this season than in recent years. New Jersey has been the surprise story of the NHL and continues to look strong even with the recent injury to Jack Hughes.
The Penguins, meanwhile, have been wildly inconsistent, and now they’ll be on the second leg of a back-to-back. They’ll be going from facing an elite goaltender in Islanders Ilya Sorokin on Friday night to a Devils squad that allows the 4th-fewest goals this season. New Jersey also won both of the meetings this season, allowing just 3 total goals across those contests. For that reason, backing the Devils to once again beat their division rivals will be the play for this evening.

XFL pick today: Orlando Guardians +3.5 over Houston Roughnecks (-110), 8:30 pm ET
The 2023 version of the XFL will get started today, and the nightcap of the league’s opening doubleheader will feature the Houston Roughnecks hosting the Orlando Guardians. Orlando is keeping things close to the vest, but does at least have a quarterback who has started NFL games in former first-round pick Paxton Lynch. Together with fellow quarterback Deondre Francois, they have two signal-callers who are both very mobile, therefore backing them to cover will be the play.
