College basketball pick today: Miami Hurricanes -2.5 over Providence Friars (-105), 4:00 pm ET

Miami comes off possibly their greatest season in program history, compiling a 26-11 record (14-6 ACC) while advancing to the Elite 8 as a 10-seed. All of this success comes from the team that was ranked 12th in the ACC preseason poll. This year’s team is a good mix of experienced players and some talented transfers which gives them the edge in today’s matchup.

The Hurricanes return two starters from last season in Jordan Miller and first team preseason All-ACC guard Isaiah Wong. Miami was also able to nab one of the top transfers in Nijel Pack from Kansas State, giving them one of the most dangerous backcourts in the country. Today’s game likely comes down to guard play, and Miami has the advantage in that department. For that reason, backing the Hurricanes to cover will be the play.

NHL pick today: Detroit Red Wings vs Columbus Blue Jackets – Over 6.5 goals (-115), 7:00 pm ET

Columbus just scored 6 goals on home ice in their most recent game on Thursday night. The Jackets have also scored at least 5 goals in 3 of their last 4 games, and each one of those were on home ice. However, they’ve also allowed 4 goals in 2 of those games. Therefore, it’s no surprise they have gone over the total in each of their last 4 games.

With that in mind, the Red Wings can also do their part for a high-scoring game. Their 7 goals on Thursday helps support that, as does the fact that the Jackets have allowed 4.20 goals per game at home. That’s the 2nd-worst mark in the NHL. With both teams struggling to defend the net in their respective locations, expect plenty of goals to be scored in Columbus.

NBA pick today: Indiana Pacers -6 over Orlando Magic (-110), 7:10 pm ET

After a 0-6 start on the road, the Magic were finally able to beat someone as they topped the Chicago Bulls 108-107 last night. But, it’s a short turnaround for them as they head to Indiana in hopes of winning back-to-back games, something they’ve done only once so far this season. It is also worth noting that against Indiana, they have lost 7 of the last 10 meetings.

The Pacers head into tonight’s game with a lot of momentum after winning at Houston last night for their 3rd win in a row and the 5th in 6 games. Indy has covered in 9 straight, and they are also 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games. For that reason, backing the Pacers to cover tonight will be the play.

College football pick today: Arkansas Razorbacks ML over Ole Miss Rebels (+100), 7:30 pm ET

The Arkansas Razorbacks will play their final home game of the season this weekend when they host the Ole Miss Rebels. It has been a disappointing season for the Razorbacks, as they have lost 5 of their last 7 games after a 3-0 start – but bowl eligibility is still in play for them.

Ole Miss figures to be a bit flat after blowing a lead against Alabama last week, especially with a matchup against in-state rival Mississippi State on deck. With KJ Jefferson expected back in the lineup this week, the Razorbacks have value as they continue to fight for bowl eligibility. This spot favors Arkansas, so backing them on the money line will be the play.
