We are 2 full weeks into the 2023 college football season and it certainly hasn’t disappointed up to this point. Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has his program off to a roaring start, while Alabama suffered a loss at home to Texas last weekend.

We have another huge slate of games on Saturday’s Week 3 action. While Pickswise is the home of free NCAAF picks, we also love to give our users the opportunity to have your say on which picks you like the most.

That’s where our brand-new feature Call It comes in. Call It lets our readers tell us which college football teams they’re taking on the spread in each game by clicking the buttons on each game preview page (if you haven’t tried it yet, go right ahead and join in the fun!). And whether you like to follow the public or swim against the tide, it can help to know what everyone else is thinking and which are the popular teams for this Saturday’s NCAAF Week 3 slate.

Week 1’s most popular trio showed the importance of the spread, as Michigan, Ohio State and Wisconsin all won their games but none of them covered. In Week 2, all 3 of the public teams won and 2 of them (Colorado and Notre Dame) also covered. How will you use the Call It information this week? Let’s dive into the CFB Week 3 consensus picks.

Alabama -33 over South Florida (-110)

90% of Pickswise users selected Alabama with Call It

Data correct at time of publishing on Friday, September 15 at 1:00 pm ET.

Pickswise Nation strongly agrees with our handicapper’s pick of Alabama -33 in Saturday’s non-conference contest with South Florida. The Crimson Tide did not look great in last week’s surprising setback against Texas, but that’s actually bad news for South Florida. You don’t want to face head coach Nick Saban’s crew when it is playing with frustration. The Bulls beat Florida A&M 38-24 in Week 2, but that was preceded by a bad 41-24 loss to Western Kentucky. Our readers are happy to give almost 5 touchdowns to USF, with an overwhelming 92% of Call It picks coming in on Alabama.

Penn State -14.5 over Illinois (-110)

84% of Pickswise users selected Penn State with Call It

Data correct at time of publishing on Friday, September 15 at 1:00 pm ET.

Hammering huge favorites proved to be profitable last weekend and the trend is continuing this time. Among those plays is Penn State to defeat Illinois by more than 2 touchdowns. The Nittany Lions went 11-2 last year and took down Utah 35-21 in the Rose Bowl, so they had a ton of momentum heading into 2023. A pair of non-conference blowouts to get things started have done nothing to put a dent in Penn State’s surge. It’s hard to see Illinois coming close to stopping the hot streak. The Call It votes are all over the Nittany Lions, with 92% of users going in that direction.

Florida State -26 over Boston College (-110)

83% of Pickswise users selected Florida State with Call It

Data correct at time of publishing on Friday, September 15 at 1:00 pm ET.

Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis is tied as the second favorite to win the Heisman Trophy (+900 at DraftKings), trailing only USC signal-caller Caleb Williams. Through 2 weeks Travis has passed for 517 yards with 6 touchdowns and 1 interception to go along with 58 yards and a score on the ground. There is no reason to think that Boston College can keep up with the Seminoles’ high-powered attack. The 83% of Call It voters who opted for Florida State at -26 must be happy to see this number under 4 touchdowns. They are anticipating an absolute mauling – and for good reason.
