An NL East rivalry takes centerstage on Tuesday Night, with two of the best pitchers in the game going head-to-head. Zack Wheeler and the Phillies will travel to Atlanta to take on the reigning NL CY Young winner Chris Sale and the Braves. We’ll be siding with FanDuel Sportsbook to craft up a three-leg Same Game Parlay.
You can catch the game live from 7:15 pm ET on TBS. Also get predictions on the side and total for Tuesday’s slate on our MLB picks page, but now let’s dive into my Phillies vs Braves Same Game Parlay!
Phillies ML (+100)
Zack Wheeler Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+118)
Chris Sale Under 7.5 Strikeouts (-136)
Same Game Parlay odds: +415
Phillies ML (+100)
The Phillies are coming off a dramatic series versus the Dodgers, where they took two of three. After an off-day, they’ll have their ace on the mound in Zack Wheeler, who looks to finally attain that coveted NL CY Young trophy he’s missing. The bullpen, mostly Jordan Ramano, has been questioned, but they still have one of the best back-end bullpens in the entire game. As long as Wheeler can hold down the Braves lineup for 6-7 innings, Matt Strahm and José Alvarado should be able to finish the deal.
Zack Wheeler Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+118)
We’re attacking a hefty number in Zack Wheeler over 7.5 strikeouts, but even with pitching deep into playoff games in the last three seasons, Wheeler has yet to show signs of slowing down. His arsenal was on full display in his previous start versus the Rockies, where he struck out 10 over seven innings.
The numbers versus the Braves core hitters are eye-popping. He’s completely shut down the likes of Matt Olson, Marcell Ozuna, and Michael Harris II – Registering a 37.6% K rate in over 115 plate appearances against the three.
Chris Sale Under 7.5 Strikeouts (-136)
Fading Chris Sale’s strikeouts has more to do with the Phillies approach at the plate and less to do with Sale. The Phillies have flipped a switch in terms of their discipline to start the season. They have the lowest chase rate in baseball after ranking in the bottom six last season – All while continuing to work at-bats with their 12.6% walk rate – 2nd in baseball.
