The Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears are the last team to kickoff on Wildcard weekend and this is expected to be a highly competitive game. These are both offenses that are going to need to be good to come out with a victory so let’s break down the Eagles vs. Chicago Bears Offense Analysis.

Philadelphia Eagles offense

The Philadelphia Eagles are a good offensive squad that has seen a lot of changes with Nick Foles taking over after Carson Wentz was lost for the season because of injury.

On the season they are averaging 22.9 points per game which is 18th in the NFL but if they had a better running game that number would probably be a lot higher. They are averaging 267 yards per game which is 7th in football but they are only averaging 98.1 yards per game on the ground which is 28th in football.

Nick Foles is the leader of this offense now and so far this season he has thrown for 1,413 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. At times he makes questionable decisions but if he can keep the turnovers down that will spell good things for the Eagles.

At running back is where all the questions seem to be for this team. They have five running backs with over 100 yards rushing, but none of them have over 511 yards. Jamal Adams seems to be more of the lead back now rushing for 511 yards on the season but the team still rides the hot hand.

Chicago Bears

On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Bears who have had a good offense but have also benefited from a lot of short fields that the defense has given them.

On the season they are averaging 26.3 points per game which is 9th in the league but the passing offense is only averaging 222.8 yards per game which is 21st in the country. On the ground they are rushing for 121 yards per game which is 11th in the league.

At quarterback, the Bears are led by Mitchell Trubisky who has thrown for 3,223 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He doesn’t need to be a superstar in this game, but he needs to not turn the ball over and be more of a game manager.

The Bears use Tarik Cohen and Jordan Howard out of the backfield and they use them both a lot. They also like to ride the hot hand, and both are going to be key in this game.

Advantage

I think both of these teams are actually pretty even on offense with each side having their own advantage. At quarterback and wide receiver the advantage is with Nick Foles and his crew but there could be an argument made both ways.

At running back there is no argument, the better side is with the Bears and it’s really not even close. The top Eagles running back would be riding the pine with the Bears. The Seattle Seahawks are ready to take on the Cowboys as Pickswise looks into the Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys Offense Analysis. The question is who will be more important to this game, the passing game or the running game?
