It will be a rematch of Week 1 when the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles meet in the opening week of the playoffs on Sunday afternoon. The first matchup came in Brazil, where Philadelphia (14-3) prevailed 34-29 on its eventual way to the NFC East title. Green Bay (11-6) settled for a wild-card spot after finishing behind Detroit and Minnesota in a stacked NFC North Division.
Here are my best player prop bets for the festivities, which kick off at 4:30 pm ET on FOX. Also be sure to check out our full Packers vs Eagles predictions.
Josh Jacobs, RB, GB anytime touchdown scorer (-115 at DraftKings)
There is no need to overthink this one. Jacobs scored 16 touchdowns (15 rushing, 1 receiving) in the regular season, including 15 in his last 11 games. This stretch features a pair of 3-TD performances, first against San Francisco and then at Detroit’s expense. When you need Jacobs to score just once and can get him relatively close to even money to do so, it’s an opportunity that should not be missed. The former Alabama standout failed to find the endzone in Week 1 against Philadelphia, but he did average 5.3 yards per attempt. There is no reason to think his current scoring binge won’t continue.
Josh Jacobs, RB, GB Over 69.5 rushing yards (-113 at FanDuel)
I’m doubling down on Jacobs, as this feels like a Jacobs-heavy game script for Green Bay. Philadelphia is incredible against the pass, finishing the regular season #1 in that department at 174.2 yards per game allowed on 6.0 yards per pass attempt. The Eagles were more middling against the run, surrendering 104.2 ypg on 4.3 ypc. Jacobs pinned 84 yards on Philly back in September even though he got only 16 carries. He has gained at least 69 yards in 8 of the last 11 contests, so I fully expect him to reach the 70 mark this weekend.
Saquon Barkley, RB, PHI Over 119.5 rushing + receiving yards (-115 at FanDuel)
Taking pretty much any Over when it comes to Barkley was a good decision during the regular season and it’s something you have to feel good about going into the playoffs. His yards from scrimmage prop in round 1 is certainly no exception. Asking Barkley to churn out at least 120 yards at the Packers’ expense should not be too much. Heck, he has exceeded that number with rushing yards alone in 7 of his last 11 games. The Penn State product now faces a Green Bay defense that he torched for 132 total yards and 3 touchdowns in the season opener. It’s also worth noting that the Packers allowed the third-most receptions, third-most targets and third-most receiving yards to opposing running backs. Count on Barkley having another huge day in both facets of the offense.
