Saturday Night Football in Week 18 gives us an AFC North showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals heading to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are short underdogs at home. The Bengals need a lot to go their way to keep their playoff hopes alive, but none of that matters if they can’t come away with a win on Saturday. On the other side, the Steelers have struggled to end the regular season and it’s tough to decipher if that is schedule related (Eagles, Ravens, Chiefs) or if this is who they are. The Steelers are locked into a playoff spot, but who their first round matchup will be depends on how the weekend shakes out. Let’s get into my best player prop bet for this AFC North showdown.
Najee Harris (PIT) over 11.5 rush attempts (-115)
Line available on Bet365 at the time of publishing.
While I’m handicapping player props I also have to handicap the game itself. Seeing the Steelers as home divisional underdogs with 23 degree weather and snow flurries expected tells me this is a game Pittsburgh should thrive in. In wins this season, Harris hit this line in 10/10. In games decided by 5 points or less, Harris hit this mark in 3/3. Where the run game got away from Pittsburgh was the 3 losses mentioned in the opener where Pittsburgh was playing from behind. The Bengals are a powerhouse offensively, but defensively it’s been less than desirable. According to PFF the Steelers have a 16% advantage in run blocking over Cincinnati and it would behoove them to control the clock, keeping Joe Burrow on the sidelines. Harris had 16 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals in Week 13 and I expect them to get back to Saturday night. This is a 1u play for me.
