NFL Week 12 comes to a close with an NFC North matchup as the Chicago Bears battle the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. The Vikings are looking to keep their hopes of winning the divisional title alive in this one, while the Bears will want to bounce back from last week’s collapse against the Lions. Let’s dive into my two favorite NFL player prop bets for Bears vs Vikings.

Alexander Mattison, RB, MIN, Under 45.5 rushing yards (-115)
Line available at BetMGM Sportsbook at time of publishing.
This line feels a little too high to me and like an overreaction to Mattison’s game against the Broncos last week when he went for 81 yards and a touchdown. What’s important to bear in mind, however, is that the Broncos have given up an average of 5.4 yards per carry this season, which is the most in the NFL. By contrast, the Bears allow an average of 3.4 yards per carry, which is the fewest in the NFL. That Broncos game was the only time Mattison has gone over this number in his last 7 games and he has slowly been losing touches to emerging running back Ty Chandler. I’m expecting a return to the norm and a frustrating game for Minnesota’s lead back (for now).

Justin Fields, QB, CHI, Over 194.5 passing yards (-110)
Line available at Bet365 at time of publishing.
Justin Fields made his return to action for the Bears in last week’s defeat to Detroit, and I’m expecting the leash to come off and for him to have a solid passing game in this one against Minnesota. Fields only managed 169 passing yards last week from 23 attempts and did most of his damage with his feet, but that was likely to ease him back into things after his hand injury and I believe we’ll see him throwing it a lot more here. If you discount the game that Fields was injured in, he has exceeded this line in 4 of 6 games this season, and right before that injury, he had performances of 335 and 282 passing yards. Since Week 3, the Vikings have allowed the opposing quarterback to throw for more than 200 yards in every game when only one QB has featured (no injuries), and that includes the likes of Bryce Young, Taylor Heinicke and Russell Wilson. This line feels generous and is worth taking advantage of.
