The Lions (-3.5) will be dawning all black uniforms Monday night in the late game against the Seattle Seahawks as we get another double-header to end our week of football. Of the 2 games Monday night, this one is easily the more digestible. Both teams have playmakers at the skill positions and playoff hopes as the Seahawks got off to a hot start this season, sitting at 3-0.

Detroit was 1B to the 49ers in the NFC and are sitting a 2-1; that could easily be 1-2 with an OT win over the Rams. Goff has looked shaky out of the gate with 4 INTs in the first 3 games, but luckily he gets a banged-up Seattle defense that will be missing 4 starters (Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy, Boye Mafe and Uchenna Nwosu). However, Kenneth Walker is slated to return at RB for the Seahawks after missing the last 2 weeks with an oblique injury.

David Montgomery (DET) Over 73.5 rush + receiving yards (-115)

As mentioned in the open, Seattle’s front 7 is missing key pieces on the defensive front and Montgomery was leaned on in Week 3 to churn out a win against the Buccaneers. He saw his highest snap % (51%), most touches (26) and found the endzone for a 3rd week in a row. The Lions are -3.5 favorites at home, so presumably playing with a lead would put Montgomery in the driver seat to chew up the clock. If I use his 4.5 y/c and his 6.7 y/r this season, I can safely project him at 14 carries for 63 yards and 2.5 receptions for 16.7 yards, smashing this over with room to spare. If you remember in Week 1 OT, Montgomery was the guy Campbell leaned on to close out the win on Monday Night Football.

With Lions center Frank Ragnow expected to be out on Monday night, I see Montgomery is being leaned on more heavily in pass protection to keep Goff from becoming turnover heavy with a pass rush up the middle. This number is very beatable and Montgomery’s role in the passing game is being overlooked, with at least 3 receptions in each of the last 2 weeks. 1u.
