In Week 6 on Thursday Night Football, we get an NFC West divisional matchup between the San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) and the Seattle Seahawks. The total is set at a lofty 49.5 and both teams are coming off a loss. The NFC West is very much up for grabs and the winner of this game will take control at the top of the division. The 49ers have suffered from a Super Bowl hangover without actually winning the big game and they’re certainly feeling the loss of Christian McCaffery in their red zone offense. For Seattle, this is a chance to put a stamp on the division during a year in flux, where a victory would see them move 2 wins clear of San Francisco. Let’s take a look at my best 49ers vs Seahawks player prop bet for Thursday Night Football, while you can also find out our NFL picks for this game and every matchup this week.

49ers vs Seahawks player prop pick: Geno Smith (SEA) under 24.5 completions (-118)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

The San Francisco 49ers do a great job getting pressure with their front 4 (8th-higest pressure rate) while rarely blitzing (20th overall). This is a nightmare for Geno Smith, who is throwing a season-low completion percentage when NOT blitzed and also 2nd-lowest when under pressure. I am also high on Kenneth Walker this week based on head coach Mike MacDonald’s post-game comments after a 5-carry performance from Walker; so a successful running game should decrease the amount of pass attempts we see from Geno, who went 18/27 against San Francisco last season. It helps that the 49ers offense leads the NFL in time of possession with 34:17 minutes of control per game, which would limit Geno’s opportunities to take shots downfield. It is worth mentioning that there hasn’t been a QB all season to hit this line against the 49ers. 1u
