Our NFL expert's best player prop bet for Buffalo Bills vs Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football: James Cook gets involved in the passing game

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook (4) beats Indianapolis Colts cornerback Dallis Flowers (33) to the endzone to score a touchdown in the first quarter of a pre-season game at Highmark Stadium.

After a snooze fest in the Thursday Night Football spot, I have high hopes for Buffalo Bills (+2.5) vs Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football. I understand Baltimore is 1-2, but this is still a matchup of two Top 5 teams in the AFC and a possible playoff matchup come January. It is worth mentioning that Josh Allen has yet to throw an interception this season and is surging ahead into his first MVP award. Baltimore can put two ugly losses behind them by winning this game in primetime and there are a lot of skill position players that can step up in this spot. Let’s take a look at my favorite prop play of the night.

James Cook (BUF) over 2.5 receptions (-120)

Line available on Fanduel Sportsbook and Bet365 at the time of publishing.

Baltimore plays man coverage at the 12th highest rate in the NFL, but they’re 26th in defensive success rate and explosive plays allowed. Cook leads all Bills skill position players in target rate against man coverage (29%). He’s hit this in 2/3 on the season, averaging 2.6 receptions per game so far. Baltimore has allowed 15 receptions in 3 games to opposing RBs while allowing the 4th most targets to opposing RBs (23).This Bills offense is this combination of a mobile Josh Allen, a motley crew of WRs, a heavy run game using Cook if needed and Dalton Kincaid keeping us on the hook every week. It’s a very malleable operation and it allows them to take whatever the defense gives them. Therefore, I like Cook to have a big role in the passing game on Sunday Night Football.
