Sunday Night Russell Wilson will face off against a familiar opponent in the San Francisco 49ers. Jimmy Garoppolo returns to starting under center and it has the feeling of bringing the 49ers back to a real NFC contender. The Broncos are currently 1.5-point underdogs at home and Jerry Jeudy did not practice on Thursday, meaning they could be short-handed at wide receiver. However, OL Quinn Meinerz, WR Ken Hamler, CB Patrick Surtain and ILB Josey Jewell should all return this week. George Kittle was limited on Thursday, indicating he could make his season debut. The Broncos are getting back offensive linemen Quinn Meinerz and Billy Turner to the starting lineup on Sunday, which will help propel Javonte Williams, who’s already averaging 5 yards per carry this season. The 49ers should be shorthanded up front with Arik Armstead expected to be out. Williams out-touched Melvin Gordon 15 to 10 in Week 2 and is significantly better in the passing game. I expect him to be the key factor on offense for this Broncos team. Williams can break big runs (17-yard longest run last week) and the 49ers’ defense will still need to respect Russell Wilson in the passing game. I project that Williams needs 12-14 carries to hit this number. Put me down for 1U.

Jeff Wilson over 11.5 receiving yards (-110)

With Jimmy G back under center and Ty Davis-Price out with a high ankle sprain, Jeff Wilson should see most of the snaps at RB. Last week he had 2 receptions for 19 yards and did it on only 49% of the snaps. That should increase on Sunday night. Garoppolo running the offense will keep defenses more honest than Trey Lance, allowing Wilson to get underneath on passing downs. He’s averaging 6.8 YPC through 2 weeks, so he may only need 2 catches to hit this line. The 49ers’ offensive line has graded out positively through two weeks, but this will be their biggest test. If Bradley Chubb can apply pressure, expect Wilson to be a safety valve on passing downs. On this for 1U.
