We are midway through the season and the injury bug has bitten most teams by now. There are several big names missing from Week 8’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. The Bengals will be on road without Ja’Marr Chase and the Browns will be missing David Njoku, Wyatt Teller, and Denzel Ward. Let’s see if we can find some angles in the AFC North matchup.

Joe Burrow over 263.5 passing yards (-115)

This line is low due to Chase being out, but if you view Burrow the way I do, it won’t matter. Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd would be 1+2 wide receivers on most teams in the league and Mixon is generally underrated as a pass catcher. Denzel Wards injury will mean shifting around the Browns secondary. Burrow has hit this line in every career game against Cleveland, averaging 335 YPG in 3 contests. He’s hit this in 5/7 so far and I do not see the absence of Chase slowing him down. 1U from me and you can play comfortably up to 268.5.

Thomas should slide into Chase’s role out the perimeter, keeping Tyler Boyd in the slot where he excels. Thomas has had limited opportunities this season, but his aDOT has been 15.7 in his two receptions. He is certainly capable of filling in. In 2021, he hit this line in 3/6 games that he logged a reception. He will likely line up across from CB Martin Emerson, whose given up a reception this long in 4/6 games this season. 0.5U on Thomas.
