Florida Panthers ML over Edmonton Oilers (-115)

Backing the Panthers after seeing the form that the Oilers have been in recently may cause quite a bit of hesitation. Frankly, we can’t blame you, and we even had Edmonton as our Stanley Cup pick since the preseason. So, we’ll certainly be rooting for a close, back-and-forth game, but someone has to come away with the Cup.

Florida has yet to win a Stanley Cup in their franchise history, but it’s also history that favors them in this spot. There have been 17 Game 7s in Stanley Cup Final history, and in those matchups, the home team is 12-5. So, the series shifting from the capital of Alberta to South Beach certainly favors Matthew Tkachuk and company. We expect head coach Paul Maurice to focus on getting off to a faster start, as 2 shots in the first period in Game 6 is simply unacceptable. Similarly, the team that scores first in the 2024 Stanley Cup Final is now 5-1. Therefore, if we see Florida strike first in front of the home crowd, things are looking up for our Oilers vs Panthers Same Game Parlay picks.

Over 5.5 goals (+115)

Speaking of scoring, that is what we are expecting plenty of yet again. The series got off to a slow start in that regard, but it’s ramped up in a big way. Of course, we all remember the 8-1 thrashing that the Oilers put on the Panthers to avoid getting swept, and we’ve had each of the past 4 games go over the total.

It was a bit of a sweat in Game 6 and required a late empty-net goal, but we aren’t concerned with how it gets done. The fact that oddsmakers haven’t increased the total to 6 is already surprising, let alone the fact that they are providing plus-money for over 5.5 goals. Regardless, we’ll gladly grab the value, especially given that we expect some regression from Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner. Like Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky did early in the series, he made some saves that are near impossible to replicate, which should lead to more goals for the Panthers in Game 7.

Connor McDavid over 1.5 points (-120)

That’s right, despite us predicting a Panthers victory, we’re focused on an Oilers skater to close out our Oilers vs Panthers Same Game Parlay picks. After all, if we’re expecting plenty of goals all around, this isn’t completely contradictory to our Oilers vs Panthers Same Game Parlay, but it does boost the odds in a big way. Let’s not forget the fact that McDavid is still the best skater on the ice, and there is still an outside shot that he can get to Wayne Gretzky’s all-time playoff point record.

It will take more than just 2 points for that mark, but that’s all we need to hit this leg. Of course, he’s more than capable of doing so, as he recorded 4 points in back-to-back games prior to Friday’s Game 6. In that most recent contest, McDavid was inexplicably held pointless, but that is certainly not something we expect to happen again, especially in the biggest game of his life. As he looks to try and bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada, expect a big game from #97.
