We’ve got a lighter slate on the ice tonight with just 4 games. However, that’s all we need to create a parlay with a mega payout. We’ve targeted our 3 favorite plays for tonight’s game to piece together with odds that could cover your wagers for the rest of the week. The only game getting left out is the Buffalo Sabres vs. Detroit Red Wings, so let’s check out the best way to play the other 3 matchups. But before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.

New York Rangers -1.5 (+198) over Ottawa Senators

Let’s get things started with the best odds of our 3 plays. The Rangers are being a bit undervalued in this spot. We’re getting a better price on them due to being on the road, but that’s expected. However, they’re being discounted due to their recent losses and the Senators finally grabbing some wins. New York has lost their last 3 games, but let’s analyze the situation a bit closer.

Their loss to the Anaheim Ducks was the 2nd night of a back-to-back before heading back across the country. Then, they were defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 into the 3rd period before a collapse that was very unlike the Rangers. Finally, their loss on Monday night was to the New Jersey Devils, who are an incredible 19-4-0 on the year. Now New York gets to face an Ottawa team that is in last place in the Atlantic Division with just 8 wins. That’s even after pulling out wins in their last 2 games. The Rangers are still a team looking to make it one step further than last season, which means a Stanley Cup Final appearance. They handled the Sens in all 3 meetings last season and should do so again tonight.

Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (-128) over San Jose Sharks

We’ve got another puck line on deck with a team that is much more favored. Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs have found their stride as of late. They’re now 14-5-5 and in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division after winning each of their last 4 games. Each of those contests were on the road, and now they get to face the Sharks back home in Toronto. To make the situation even better, San Jose just played last night on the road in Montreal.

They had backup goaltender Kaapo Kakhonen in net against the Canadiens, but starter James Reimer hasn’t been much better. He’s still just 5-8 on the season, hence why the Sharks are at the bottom of the Pacific Division at 7-13-4. They’re allowing the 6th-most goals per game, which is never a good sign when facing Matthews and company. He’s coming off a 60-goal season, and just found the back of the net on Monday night. That was a multi-goal win as well, and the Leafs should have no issues pulling off another one at home.

Edmonton Oilers vs Chicago Blackhawks – Over 6.5 (-110)

Any game that involves Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl should have fans expecting plenty of goals. McDavid still leads the entire NHL with 39 points, and Draisaitl is not far behind with 33. They’ve proven that even with Evander Kane out with injury, they’re still a prolific offense. Edmonton just took down the Florida Panthers with 4 goals, and now gets to face a struggling Blackhawks team — and struggling is putting it lightly. Chicago is on a 7-game losing skid, and just allowed a whopping 7 goals to the Winnipeg Jets the last time they were on the ice.

That too was a home game, so they don’t seem to get much of an advantage in that respect. Worse yet, they’ve allowed at least 5 goals in 5 of their last 6 games. As expected, each of those games went over the total. As prolific as the Oilers are on offense, their goaltending still lags far behind. They’re allowing the 7th-most goals per game, so Patrick Kane and the ‘Hawks may actually look competent in this matchup. It also helps that Seth Jones is back healthy for Chicago. With the Blackhawks also allowing the 4th-most goals per game, expect a high-scoring clash in the Windy City.
