Wednesday brings hockey fans a smaller slate of NHL action, as there are just 3 games on tonight’s schedule. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t aim for a big payday with a mega parlay. We have put together a 3-leg mega parlay at +2193 odds for tonight’s action. Along with this parlay, don’t forget to check out our full game previews for each NHL matchup.
Now let’s get to it.
Coyotes ML (+160)
Rangers -1.5 (+330) *alt puck line
Avalanche vs Ducks over 6 (-110)
Parlay odds: +2193
Arizona Coyotes ML (+160) over New Jersey Devils
The Devils haven’t played since last Thursday due to COVID-19 postponements, and have dropped their last 2 games. Mackenzie Blackwood is the expected starter for the Devils tonight and he’ll most certainly be looking to improve on his .898 save percentage. Even more concerning is his -9.37 goals saved above expected, which is the 4th-worst mark in the league. The Devils aren’t bad offensively, but they are one of the league’s worst defensive teams, ranking 26th in goals against per game. They’re still missing the presence of star defenseman Dougie Hamilton on that front.
The Coyotes have gone 3-2-1 in their last 6 and Jakob Chychrun is poised to make his return from the COVID-19 list. Even though Arizona ranks near the bottom of the league in most categories, the Coyotes have had a decent run since the break, going 3-3-2. The Devils are probably the better team overall, but they are way overpriced on the moneyline. They’ve barely played over the last few weeks, while Arizona is playing its best hockey of the season. Lean towards the Coyotes continuing their good run of play and take the Coyotes on the moneyline.

New York Rangers -1.5 (+330) over Toronto Maple Leafs
We are turning to an alternate puck line for the second leg of this mega parlay. The Toronto Maple Leafs are in the middle of a 6-game road trip, and they have gone 2-1-1 so far. However, the losses were concerning. They lost 5-4 in OT to the Avalanche after blowing a 4-1 lead, and then lost to the Coyotes, the worst team in the Western Conference. On the other side, the Rangers return home after a 5-game road trip that saw them go 3-2-0.
Offensively, the Leafs are better any way you slice it. They rank 3rd in expected goals, while the Rangers are 27th. But defense is where the Rangers shine. Both teams are hovering around average on expected goals against, but the Rangers are 2nd in goals against per game and that is due to superior goaltending. Even with the Leafs’ projected starter, Jack Campbell ranking 6th in goals saved above expected, projected Rangers starter Igor Shesterkin is 1st. When healthy, Shesterkin has been dominant, and since the break he’s allowed just 6 total goals in 4 games, whereas Campbell has allowed 15 in his last 4. Don’t be surprised if the Rangers win this one by multiple goals.

Avalanche vs Ducks over 6 (-110)
Colorado has beaten Anaheim 5-2 and 4-2 this season. The Avalanche have already shown twice that they have a strong advantage offensively over the Ducks’ defense and goaltending. Pair that with their current hot streak and a depleted Ducks team, and the Avs seem poised to put up another 4+ goals, which is on par with their season average.
Even if it’s up to them to carry the game total, they can do it. The Ducks still have enough talent in their lineup who will get plenty of ice time to create some offensive chances. Colorado isn’t amazing in goal prevention. They give up 3.19 goals per game, which is 21st in the NHL. If Anaheim can pop a few on Colorado’s below-average goaltending, and the Avs offensive numbers hit their averages, this total could climb quickly.
