We had a rather calm beginning to the NHL week with just 3 games on the ice last night. Things ramp up in a big way with 11 games tonight. This is truly the home stretch of the season, and there’s still plenty left to be decided. The Eastern Conference still has seeding to be decided and wild-card spots up for grabs, while the Western Conference is even more uncertain. Despite just 6 teams in action last night, there are still some squads on the second leg of a back-to-back. We’re using that to our advantage for tonight’s NHL mega parlay along with some of the early games, so let’s get right into it.

New Jersey Devils -1.5 (+158) over Pittsburgh Penguins
Let’s get our NHL mega parlay started with a Metro Division rivalry. That hasn’t been the case in recent seasons, but the Devils continue to be one of the most positive surprise stories of the season. They’ve had their playoff spot clinched, but they still want that division title. Their quest to surpass the Carolina Hurricanes starts with a win over the Penguins tonight. Unlike New Jersey, Pittsburgh is still fighting for a chance to be in the playoffs at all.
Along with the New York Islanders and Florida Panthers, the Pens are battling for an Eastern Conference wild-card spot. Unfortunately for them, the Devils have played a part in their record not being as good as it could be. Jack Hughes and company are 3-0 against Sidney Crosby and the boys. Two of those 3 victories came by multiple goals, including the most recent matchup. That was a convincing 5-2 Devils win, and that was before they acquired Timo Meier from the San Jose Sharks at the trade deadline. With even more depth on their roster, they should be able to complete the season series sweep.

Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 (-145) over Columbus Blue Jackets
The least surprising pick of our NHL mega parlay is the Leafs on home ice over the Jackets. That’s perfectly illustrated by the odds, but we have great plus-money prices with our other plays. Regardless, this is simply a complete mismatch. Toronto has been one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference all season, while Columbus has been at the bottom of the NHL virtually all year. Injuries have certainly played a part in the Jackets’ rough season, but it goes beyond that. Their goaltending has been abysmal, as they’re allowing the 2nd-most goals per game. It was also no shock to see them as sellers at the trade deadline.
All that is a recipe for a convincing Leafs win. They have one of the deepest rosters in the NHL and some of the most elite goalscorers. Auston Matthews is coming off his 60-goal season, Mitch Marner remains one of the best wingers in the league, captain John Tavares brings the experience and William Nylander is a sniper in his own right. Toronto’s first-round matchup is set with the Tampa Bay Lightning, but they do still want to ensure home ice for that series. Therefore, we’re comfortable backing them on the puck line.
Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (+185) over Nashville Predators
Our NHL mega parlay features all puck-line plays, but there’s simply too much value to pass up. We mentioned that a few teams were on a back-to-back, and this game features two of them. Both were on the road last night, so both will be traveling into Nashville. Not only is Vegas simply the better team this season, a back-to-back affects the Preds much more. Nashville goes only as far as goaltender Juuse Saros takes them, and he was in net against the Dallas Stars last night.
Even if they wanted to force him between the pipes again, the Preds’ lack of depth is also a concern when playing on consecutive nights. Filip Forsberg remains on the injured reserve, Roman Josi is not 100% and several top skaters were traded at the deadline. Vegas has clinched its playoff berth. However, the Edmonton Oilers are red-hot and just 2 points back. Along with the Los Angeles Kings just 1 point behind, the Golden Knights have a lot to play for. As they are looking to win the Pacific Division, we’ll trust them to win big over a disappointed Preds team.
Tuesday’s NHL mega parlay (4/4)
Devils -1.5 (+158)
Maple Leafs -1.5 (-145)
Golden Knights -1.5 (+185)
Parlay odds +1148
