Flames -1.5 (+112)

Hurricanes ML (+112)

Seattle Kraken vs Vegas Golden Knights over 5.5 (+100)

Parlay odds: +798

Let’s break down each leg one by one:

Calgary Flames -1.5 (+112) over San Jose Sharks

The Calgary Flames are one of the best teams around and the stats back up that statement.  Offensively, they rank 3rd in expected goals per 60 minutes and they are turning that pressure into goals, as they rank in the top 5 for both goals and goals per game. They are just as good on defense, ranking 2nd in goals against and goals against per game. That high ranking is largely due to limiting the chances from their opponents as they rank 5th in expected goals against per 60 minutes.

On the other side, the San Jose Sharks have been strong defensively, but the problem area is their offense. The Sharks rank 29th in expected goals per 60 minutes but are scoring more than the ranking would assume as they are 15th in goals and goals per game. The Flames are a top 5 team overall in the league in every category. The Sharks just ended a 5-game home stand against mediocre talent and went 2-2-1. Look for the Flames to pick up a big win on their home ice.

Carolina Hurricanes ML (+112) over Tampa Bay Lightning

The Carolina Hurricanes come into today’s game after losing their first game of the season to Florida on Saturday.  They are now 4-1-0 on the road and 9-1-0 on the year. They are looking to get back on track against a Tampa Bay team that is 2-2-1 at home this season. The Hurricanes are one of the deepest teams in the Atlantic division and in the NHL in general. They will shift their wingers up and down their lineup to keep their lines fresh, and this also allows them to take advantage of teams with weaker third and fourth lines. While Tampa Bay is at home in this game, look for Carolina’s depth to be the difference in what should be a very close game.

Seattle Kraken vs Vegas Golden Knights over 5.5 (+100)

Seattle and Vegas have scored 11 and 12 goals in their last 3 games respectively. The over cashed in all 6 games between the teams.  Both teams struggled to score early in their seasons, but their offenses are coming along. That being said, their inability to keep other teams off the scoreboard has as much to do with a potentially high total than any recent offensive prowess. Both Seattle and Vegas are giving up a ton of chances to their opponents, and it has yielded some high-scoring games. Both Philipp Grubauer and Robin Lehner are playing at or under .500 with below league-average goals-against and save percentages. With 2 offenses heating up and some below-average defense and goaltending, look to the over.
