Following a chill Wednesday, we are back in full force with a loaded NHL slate. It was just the calm before the storm, as we have 10 games on the ice tonight. Many teams are still looking ahead towards the postseason, as most can make the claim they are still in the hunt. We have a big weekend ahead, so we’ve analyzed tonight’s matchup to create a mega parlay to cover our bets for the next few days. There are 3 different markets involved and they’re all in the early window, so let’s get into it.
Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

New York Rangers -1.5 (+150) over Detroit Red Wings
The Rangers are looking to take that next step after getting within 2 games of the Stanley Cup Finals last season. They are also coming off arguably the most frustrating loss of the season. Although they out-shot the Winnipeg Jets 51-21 on Monday night, they fell 4-1. However, they won’t be facing the likes of goaltender Connor Hellebuyck in net tonight.
They will be back on the road, but that hasn’t proved to be an issue for the Rangers. They went up to Canada and took down Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers right after putting up 6 goals in Vancouver. Now they get to head to a city they already had great success in this season: Detroit. When the Rangers went over to the Motor City earlier this season, they dominated the Red Wings 8-2. Now Detroit is going to have to get by an angry Igor Shesterkin, which is never an easy task. Wings goaltender Vile Husso hasn’t looked quite as strong as the start of the year, so I will trust the Rangers to bounce back tonight.
New Jersey Devils 3-way ML (+110) over Los Angeles Kings
I’m not going far from New York for my 2nd play. I’m also not going far in terms of the standings. The Devils are just 1 spot ahead of the Rangers in the Metropolitan Division and just 5 points behind the Carolina Hurricanes. They, too, are in need of a bounce-back game. That hasn’t been the case often this season, but New Jersey recently laid a dud on Tuesday night. Jack Hughes and company fell to a bad Montreal Canadiens team, ending their home winning streak at 6. However, they can certainly start up a new one tonight.
They will still be on home ice, while the Kings couldn’t be further from home. LA is also coming off a loss in which it scored just 1 goal against the Minnesota Wild. That’s not good news given that the Devils crushed them 5-2 over in California just last month. Despite that poor performance the other night, New Jersey is still allowing the 5th-fewest goals per game this season. With the Devils having recently defeated the Kings 5-2 on the road, I’m expecting a strong performance on home ice.

Edmonton Oilers vs Pittsburgh Penguins – Over 7 (-105)
Let’s wrap things up with a total. We haven’t had that many totals listed at 7 goals this season, let alone not even at plus money. Therefore it’s clear that oddsmakers are also anticipating a high-scoring game. You can’t blame them, as the Oilers feature the top 2 point-scorers in the NHL in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. In fact, McDavid is going for the first 150-point season in 27 years. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Edmonton has overtaken the Boston Bruins as the highest-scoring team in the NHL.
That rank should hold true facing a Penguins team allowing the 7th-most goals per game since the start of 2023. McDavid and company put that on full display when they took down the Pens 6-3 earlier this season. The will face off in Pittsburgh this time around, which should help Sidney Crosby and Pens contribute even more toward the total. Along with the talent of Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel, there is simply more skating firepower than there is elite goaltending in this matchup. Sit back and enjoy what should be a fast-paced matchup.
