Ottawa Senators ML (+310) over Florida Panthers
The Ottawa Senators’ 2nd game on their 5-game road trip has them playing the Florida Panthers. The Panthers come into this game having the top-ranked team applying pressure on offense. They also lead the league in goals per game with a mark of 4.08. The Senators aren’t as good, as they are a borderline bottom-10 offense.
Where the value in this game comes from is how both teams have played recently and the bad defense of the Panthers. Even though the Senators have 1 win in their last 5 games, they have been in every single game. Three of those 4 losses came by 1 goal, including an OT loss to the Bruins. The only game they lost by more than 1 goal, they had a quick 2-0 lead on the Lightning before losing 5-2. The Panthers on the other hand have gone ice cold and have lost 3 straight games, all at home. The big takeaway from those losses is how shaky the Panthers’ defense has been. They allowed 16 goals in those 3 games, which included back-to-back games where they let in 6 goals. The value of the Senators is too good to pass up, so place your bet on the Senators money line.

Carolina Hurricanes ML (-140) over Washington Capitals
The Carolina Hurricanes wrap a 2-game road trip on Thursday when they play the Washington Capitals. Talk about two teams going in opposite directions. The Hurricanes have points in 7 straight games, going 5-0-2 and they lead the Eastern Conference. The Capitals have lost 3 straight games and 4 of their last 6, only scoring 6 goals in those 4 losses.
The Hurricanes have the edge offensively, especially with the recent play of the Capitals. The Hurricanes are a top-5 offense while the Capitals have slowly started moving towards being average on the attack. The biggest advantage, however, comes in net, as projected starter for the Hurricanes, Frederik Andersen, ranks 2nd in goals saved above average, whereas projected starter for the Capitals, Ilya Samsonov, ranks 74th. With the offense and goaltending edges, place your bet on the Hurricanes money line.
Boston Bruins ML (-105) over Vegas Golden Knights
The Boston Bruins’ 5th road game of their season-long 6-game road trip brings them to Vegas to play the Golden Knights. The Bruins just had their 5-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday against the Ducks. The Knights, on the other hand, have 2 wins in their last 7 games, both against the Sharks, who are 7th in the Atlantic Division.
This game comes down to which teams’ strength will prevail. The Knights hold the edge on the attack, as they rank 5th in expected goals and 12th in goals per game. The Bruins aren’t that far back from the Knights as they rank 14th in expected goals and 17th in goals per game. Defensively, the Bruins have the advantage by a large margin as they are a top-5 defense. They rank 6th in goals against per game and 1st in expected goals against. The Knights, however, rank 16th in goals against per game and 23rd in expected goals against. Lean on the team who has been playing better recently as well as has the bigger advantage with their strength and place your bet on the Bruins money line.
