Following a great Saturday of 13 games, we’re back with a solid 6-slate. Although we have fewer games, the action gets started in the early afternoon. We’ll be targeting that matchup for this mega parlay, along with 2 of our other favorite plays. We’re expecting some landslide victories with teams taking advantage of those on back-to-backs. There’s also a rematch of a game that did come through for us on Friday night, so let’s get every leg working together for today’s mega parlay.

Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today’s action.

Dallas Stars -1.5 (+150) over Philadelphia Flyers

The Stars were the only ones to keep us from cashing our +968 mega parlay on Friday night, but we’re going to trust them to make up for it today. This will be the first game of the day, and they have a great matchup against the Flyers. Philly got off to a strong start to the season but has been coming back down to Earth. The Flyers have lost each of their last 2 games, including a 4-1 loss at home to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. In those 2 losses they scored a combined 3 goals.

That’s bad news when facing a Stars team that is known for their defense. Goaltender Jake Oettinger has been having an incredible season, and their loss on Friday was no more than a hiccup. He has worked his way up to the 3rd betting favorite for the Vezina Trophy that honors the NHL’s best goalie. Dallas should also have a better time finding the back of the net themselves. The Flyers’ hot start was primarily due to the goaltending of Carter Hart. While he’s been impressive, he was just in net for Friday’s loss. That means Felix Sandstrom will be between the pipes for this matchup. He is a significant downgrade, as Philly lost each of his first 3 starts. The Stars are looking to regain the lead of the Central Division and this should be a strong step in doing just that.

Boston Bruins -1.5 (+110) over Vancouver Canucks

After taking advantage of a Flyers team on a back-to-back, this matchup features 2 teams that also just played on Friday night. However, that’s about where the similarities between these teams ends. The Bruins have been absolutely buzzin’ to begin the year. They have maintained their lead in the Atlantic Division, along with the best record in the Eastern Conference. One of the many reasons for their success has been Brad Marchand returning to the team far before his original December projection.

Boston has also gotten incredible play from goaltender Linus Ullmark. With Jeremy Swayman injured, he has stepped up in a big way. Not only does he have the most wins in the NHL, but his .936 save percentage is also just .002 points behind the top spot in the league. The Bruins intentionally did not have him in net against the Buffalo Sabres last night so that he would be available for this matchup. Similarly, the Canucks saved starting goaltender Thatcher Demko for this game. However, he has not been having a great first month of the season; Vancouver has allowed the 3rd-most goals per game. With that average being over 4 goals allowed per game, David Pastrnak and the Bru-crew should have a field day in TD Garden.

Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (+140) over Washington Capitals

This is the rematch of the game that came through for us on Friday night. We targeted the total for that contest, but we’re switching gears to a puck line play. One of the most difficult things as a sports bettor is not to base a play solely off of what you just saw last. The Capitals were able to take down the Lightning in that game on Friday. However, the Lightning can bounce back with this game being in Tampa. They’re too experienced of a team to need home ice advantage, but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

It’s also still difficult to trust this Washington team with their injury concerns. Defenseman John Carlson has returned, but they are still without Tom Wilson and Nicklas Backstrom. That still puts a lot of pressure on Alex Ovechkin to outperform an all-world goaltender in Andrei Vasilevskiy. His bounce-back performances were discussed quite a bit during last year’s Stanley Cup playoffs, and it should come to fruition tonight. It’s extremely rare for him to have back-to-back poor performances. The Caps have lost back-to-back games to the Detroit Red Wings and Arizona Coyotes just last weekend, and their inconsistencies should show themselves again tonight.
