Weekend NHL action means early starts, and that’s no different for Stanley Cup Playoffs. Yesterday we had one afternoon matchup, but Sunday has 2 even earlier in the day. Not only that, but all 4 series going on today have 2-1 scorelines. We’ve seen some great hockey already, and there’s no reason to expect anything different today. The only matchup we’re not targeting for our NHL mega parlay is the first one of the day between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders. However, we’re expecting bounce-back performances in the remainder of the day, so let’s break down why.

Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Florida Panthers ML (+130) over Boston Bruins

After the Panthers were able to steal Game 2 from the Bruins on the road in Boston, they were unable to win the first game of the series in Florida. However, it was nothing close to a blowout. The Panthers were even favored to win Game 3 by MoneyPuck’s advanced analytics and they’ve looked competitive in each game thus far. That shouldn’t be too big of a surprise, as they’re one of the few teams that hasn’t been intimidated by the Bruins this season.

Boston didn’t lose many games, but 2 of them were to Florida. In fact, both of those matchups were in South Beach. The Bruins defense was able to keep Matthew Tkachuk in check on Friday night, but doing so in back-to-back games is a tall task. Not only that, but Boston will still be without captain Patrice Bergeron, who didn’t even make the trip to Florida. While the Bruins may ultimately still end up winning the series, the Panthers have the scoring talent to even things up on Sunday.

Dallas Stars ML (+100) over Minnesota Wild

This Central Division rivalry has been as back and forth as it gets. Game 1 was extremely tight, and went to double overtime before the Wild got the win. Then, the Stars put on a show in a 7-3 win in Game 2. Minnesota then went back to goaltender Filip Gustavsson, who led the Wild to a 5-1 win in Game 3. We’re expecting another tight, low-scoring matchup for Game 4 before the series heads back to Dallas.

Seeing the Stars held to just 1 goal on Friday night may not create much confidence, but they still have an elite goal-scorer in Jason Robertson, and Roope Hintz had a hat-trick in Game 2. We also aren’t expecting the Wild to be able to put up 5 goals again on Sunday. They scored just 5 goals in regulation combined across Game 1 and Game 2. Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger is still one of the best in the NHL, and the primary reason the Stars allowed the 3rd-fewest goals per game this season. That was on display when these teams faced off, as they held Minnesota to 2 or fewer goals in 3 of their 4 matchups. This one will likely be a sweat, but we’ll take the Stars as slight underdogs.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (+165) over Los Angeles Kings

The final leg of our NHL mega parlay is perhaps one we feel the most confident about. It’s worth noting that this play is as low as +145 on some sportsbooks. Despite the Oilers being down 2-1 in the series, they’re still the slight favorites to win it. Similarly, they’re the clear favorite even with this game being in Los Angeles. In each of their 2 losses in this series, Edmonton has held the lead in the 2nd period. Several questionable calls have made fans very outspoken about the officiating in this series.

Although the skaters cannot control that, the Oilers have the offensive firepower to overcome it. Connor McDavid just has a season for the history books and notched 2 goals himself on Friday night. With Leon Draisaitl also having 3 goals in this series, they can certainly bounce back. It’s also worth mentioning that they overcame a playoff deficit to the Kings just last season. These teams met in the first round last year as well, and the Oilers were on the brink of elimination down 3-2. They went on to win the next 2 games and reached the Western Conference Finals. Sunday’s Game 4 isn’t even as dire of a situation, so we trust them to pull through.
