It’s Saturday in the NHL, so you know what that means. We have afternoon hockey. This is also the last weekend before the All-Star break. With that in mind, we’re here to help boost your bankroll to roll over into the 2nd half of the season. We’ll be targeting that first afternoon game with the defending Stanley Cup champions, along with the team that looks destined to win it this year. There’s plenty of time to see who hoists the Cup, but not for our NHL mega parlay, so make sure you check it out and lock it in before the first puck drop.

Colorado Avalanche -1.5 (+120) over St. Louis Blues
As mentioned, the first game of the day takes place in Colorado with the defending-champion Avalanche. It will be even earlier local time, and they’ll be facing a team they’re all too familiar with. The St. Louis Blues are coming into town, a team they knocked out of the postseason last year. Not only that, but St. Louis was also recently singing the blues as they were smashed 5-0 in their last game. However, that’s not all.
That loss came to the Arizona Coyotes, one of the worst teams in the NHL. It’s difficult to decide which part of that loss was more embarrassing. They were shut out by a Coyotes team allowing the 8th-most goals per game, while allowing 5 goals to an Arizona squad that scores the 5th-fewest goals per game. Now they have to face superstar Nathan MacKinnon and the Avs on home ice. Given their recent form and their goaltending struggles all season, we’ll get the day started with a convincing Colorado win.

Boston Bruins -1.5 (+165) over Florida Panthers
To say the Boston Bruins are buzzin’ would be an understatement. Despite losing their most recent game, their 38-6-4 record is still incredible. They’re also still on pace to set the NHL record for the most wins and most points in a season. As mentioned, they did lose their last matchup. However, that was on the road to a Tampa Bay Lightning team that has been to the last 3 Stanley Cup Finals.
Boston will still be on the road but will only be taking the short trip further down Florida. The Panthers haven’t been quite as strong as they were last season, and they’ll be on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. Even when they’ve been lighting up the scoreboard, it still hasn’t been enough. Florida just recently put up 6 goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and still lost that game 7-6. Scoring 6 goals on the Bruins league-best goaltending is a bit of a pipe dream as well. The Bruins have defeated the Panthers by multiple goals twice already this season, so they can certainly do it again on the 2nd night of a back-to-back.
Pittsburgh Penguins -1.5 (+100) over San Jose Sharks
Let’s wrap things up with another black and yellow team. Better yet, it’s another one that will also get to face a team on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. Firstly, the Pens have been a much stronger team at home this season. For example, that aforementioned game when they put up 7 goals on the Panthers. They’re coming off a tough overtime loss to the rival Washington Capitals, so this should be a great bounce-back spot for them.
The Sharks were just in Carolina taking on the Hurricanes last night, who are the 2nd-best team in the NHL. Even if they weren’t playing 2 nights in a row, San Jose simply isn’t a great team. They’re ahead of only the Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division, and just barely. The last time the Pens hosted the Sharks, they scored 8 goals in a dominating victory. It may not be the sexiest play of the evening, but we’ll back Sidney Crosby and company to come through.
