The Super Bowl has come and gone and the NFL season is over. Thus it is time for basketball and hockey to take center stage, and the NHL is happy to oblige having returned from its all-star break. A 4-game slate is on offer for Monday, when the Wild, Maple Leafs, Jets, and Oilers are among the teams in action. It’s enough to work with as we try to begin the week with a winning mega parlay.

Leafs 3-way ML (-145)

Jets -1.5 (+145)

Oilers -1.5 (+170)

Parlay odds: +1018

For this parlay we are going with three favorites, all on the puck line. Let’s break down the three legs one by one.

Leafs 3-way ML over Kraken (-145)

This matchup is very one-sided and it should not be close. Toronto has lost 2 games in a row, but it is in the top 5 in every offensive category and should have few issues securing a win over Seattle. Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews are the most important players on the team, as they drive the offense at 5-on-5 and on the power play. The Kraken need to slow both players down, but even if they do they still don’t have the firepower to score enough goals. They are 25th in goals per game and 27th in goals against. Whoever starts for Seattle will need to have a great game to give them any chance of winning. That’s easier said than done against the Leafs.

Jets -1.5 over Blackhawks (+145)

The Jets have stayed afloat through some injuries and Covid-19 shelving some key players lately. They are 3-1-1 in their last 5 games. Each of those wins has come by at least 2 goals and against good Central Division opponents in playoff spots: St. Louis, Minnesota, and most recently Nashville. The Blackhawks are 1-4-0 in their last 5 games with those losses coming by 2, 2, 5, and most recently 4 goals. In the last 10 games, Chicago is 2-6-2 with all losses coming by at least 2 goals. Despite sitting in the middle of the pack, the Jets have much better numbers than Chicago. Winnipeg’s special teams are better, its goalscoring and goal prevention are better, this team takes more shots on goal, and it boasts a better save percentage.

Oilers -1.5 over Sharks (+170)

This will be Oilers forward Evander Kane’s first game back in San Jose since his release by the Sharks in January. Kane spent 4 years with them before his contract was terminated due to off-ice issues. There is no question he would like to score in this game in his former building. The Oilers grabbed a 3-1 win on Friday night in their first game after firing head coach Dave Tippett. In Jay Woodcroft’s second game on the bench he will look to have his team ready to go again. Adding these storylines to them playing a mediocre opponent in San Jose makes the Oilers an attractive choice for this matchup. Edmonton’s style of play matches up well against San Jose. The Sharks like to play a gritty and structured game, but the Oilers’ fast-paced play can really open things up and get teams running around. Motivated to get their second straight win and continue their push to climb back into the playoffs, Edmonton should prevail with ease.
