We’ve got a rather relaxing Monday on the ice. There are just 4 games, but that’s still plenty for us to find value. We’re going to be focusing on the first and last games of the evening, as the games sandwiched in between are much more difficult to read. The first game of the night allows us to pick on a team on the second night of a back-to-back, while the nightcap is a great Pacific Division rivalry. Since we need to lock in before the first puck drop, let’s dive in. Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.
Buffalo Sabres ML & over 6.5 (+165) over Philadelphia Flyers
We’re getting things started with the first game of the night. It’s one of the most exciting ways we could get the evening going, as the Sabres have been electric to watch this season. Led by Tage Thompson, Buffalo is the highest-scoring team in the NHL. The Sabres put that on full display on Saturday night with their win over the Minnesota Wild. Thompson scored a goal in that game on the way to 6 goals by Sabres. That too was at home, where this matchup will take place. They’ll be welcoming in a Flyers team who were in Philly last night, losing 6-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Buffalo does not have the league’s best record either, but the Flyers have the 2nd-fewest wins in the Eastern Conference. Not only should this new-look Sabres team fly through Philly, they handled them with ease last season. Buffalo wasn’t nearly as strong of a team, and still defeated the Flyers in all 3 matchups. Despite the Sabres being the highest-scoring team in the NHL, they’re still fighting to remain in the top half of the Atlantic Division. That’s because they also allow too many goals themselves. With that in mind, that’s why we’re backing them to win the game, but certainly not with a clean sheet.

Edmonton Oilers ML & over 6.5 (+255) over Los Angeles Kings
We have the exact combination play as the first game of the night for the last game. This will be a battle between teams that know each other very well. These Pacific Division rivals have met only once so far this season, with LA taking that game. The Oilers won 3 of the 4 matchups last year, scoring 12 goals across those victories. More importantly, they eliminated the Kings from the postseason last year. That was a thrilling 7-game series, with both teams proving they can score on one another. In fact, LA was a much stronger defensive team last season than they are now.
They just recently got themselves out of the bottom 10 in terms of goals allowed, but it’s still nothing Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl can’t take advantage of. McDavid’s 76 points on the year is far and away the most, with Draisaitl’s 62 the 2nd-most. The duo is absolutely lethal and will be looking to bounce back after blowing a lead against the Colorado Avalanche. It’s also worth noting that the Oilers have strangely not been great at home. Therefore, we’re getting great value on them with this being a road game, where they have the 7th-best record in the league. This will likely be a back-and-forth game, but we’ll trust the superstars to come through.
