What a story Seattle continues to be in these playoffs. They are making elite teams really have to bear down when it matters most. They have proven their success is not a fluke and is sustainable. The Stars now have to push back and play the game that led them to dominate very consistently in the regular season. There is always added urgency in the second game of a series with one team looking to avoid a 2-0 deficit and the other looking to pounce. This will be a great one for hockey fans.

Along with our Kraken vs Stars Same Game Parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Stars -1.5 (+130)

It was kind of a bizarre Game 1 considering it went beyond regulation but there were 9 goals scored consisting of 5 goal scorers from Seattle and just a single goal scorer from Dallas. The shots were 34-31 in favor of Seattle through regulation so it’s not like the Kraken dominated play. The Stars, with an outlier of an exception, just could not break through. Those nights happen. As good as Seattle is and has been, so too is and has Dallas. The Stars would rather not go back to Seattle down 2-0 in the series and their urgency will reflect as much.

The Stars lost their first game of the playoffs to Minnesota at home in overtime, as well, but recovered with a strong 7-3 win. They also followed up their second loss to Minnesota with a win. Since the start of March, the Stars have 8 losses. In the following games they are 7-1. Dallas will come out buzzing to keep that trend rolling.

Under 6.5 goals (-220)

Considering the first game hit 9 total goals, adding a goal to tonight’s total should add some cushion to the under while contributing to the odds of this Same Game Parlay. Go figure; after all trends indicate a low total, Game 1 went over very comfortably. If and until high totals remain consistent though, an under 6.5 is a more reliable play between the Kraken and Stars. The under was very prevalent in both teams’ seasons and has been with only a couple of exceptions in the postseason, as well.

Dallas’ over under record now between the regular and postseason is 37-48-4 — including 19-23-3 at home. Seattle’s over/under record now between the regular and post-season is 40-47-3 including 21-24-1 on the road. Game totals for the Kraken in the playoffs have averaged 5.76, while the Stars boast arguably the best goalie left in the playoffs. Going back to the well on the under an alternative total between these teams is not exactly going out on a limb.

Jason Robertson anytime goal scorer (+135)

Jason Robertson is a guy who had 46 goals and 109 points while suiting up in all 82 regular-season games. He is an absolute gamer but has 11 points in 14 career playoff games. There is likely plenty more playoff games ahead for the 23-year-old. Robertson will break out in the playoffs at some point in his career. With a point per game so far, it might as well be this postseason. A +135 number for Robertson to score is good value against a team that is good but not great in terms of goal prevention.

Robertson is on a line with Roope Hintz, who leads the Stars with 12 points in these 7 playoff games, and Tyler Seguin — who has 5 points in the last 4 games. The Stars’ top line of Robertson, Hintz and Seguin has 25 points in 21 combined games so far in the playoffs. They will get their share of any offense the Stars muster up and the best player positioned for success is Robertson.
