I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. Just when it seems like a team has found its groove, the exact opposite happens in the next game. However, that’s also what makes the Stanley Cup Playoffs so exciting. It’s also exactly what we saw in the Golden Knights vs Oilers Game 3. Despite that, Edmonton is still the clear favorite in Wednesday’s Game 4. While the series remains on home ice for the Oilers, I’m willing to trust them to bounce back as well. As they look to even the series at 2-2, I have a Golden Knights vs Oilers Same Game Parlay to make the most of the matchup.

Edmonton Oilers -1.5 (+130)

The final score of Game 3 may not provide much confidence in backing the Oilers in Game 4. However, I’m not going to let one game influence my outlook on the series. After all, even the Anaheim Ducks won 23 games this season. Let’s also not forget that Edmonton steamrolled through the Knights in Game 2 with a 5-1 win.

Similarly, expecting Vegas to completely shut down the duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in back-to-back games seems rather far-fetched. McDavid’s historic season speaks for itself, and Draisaitl has stepped up in a big way in the playoffs — he already has an incredible 13 goals. If Edmonton is able to make it to the Western Conference Finals and ultimately the Stanley Cup Final, there’s a great chance we’ll see a new record, which is currently 19. With Knights goaltender Laurent Brossoit also being injured, I love Edmonton’s chances of bouncing back.

Over 6.5 goals (-150)

If the Oilers are going to even up the series, they’re going to have to continue displaying their offensive dominance. With McDavid and Draisaitl as the top point-scorers this season, it’s no surprise that Edmonton was the highest-scoring team in the NHL. It’s also worth mentioning that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins eclipsed 100 points this year and it also helps that Game 4 will still be on home ice for McDavid and company.

While Game 3 was an outlier, the Oilers scored nearly 4 goals per game in Rogers Place this season. There’s no reason not to expect that to be on display on Wednesday night with Brossoit injured. Adin Hill was able to come in relief and look solid, but there’s a reason even the San Jose Sharks no longer wanted him. Therefore, the overall theme of this parlay is for a high-scoring, convincing Edmonton win.

Over 2.5 1st period goals (+185)

The last leg certainly correlates with that theme and it came through in our Same Game Parlay for Game 3. With such a great plus-money price and the trend we’ve been seeing, there’s no reason to back off now. Early starts have been the calling card for Edmonton, especially in the playoffs. All 3 games in this series have seen at least 3 goals scored in the first period, including 5 in Game 1.

That was also the case heading into this series. Each of the Oilers’ last 3 games against the Los Angeles Kings had at least 3 goals scored in the first period. That marks 6 straight games with such an outcome, with the Oilers often being the ones to score 3 themselves. With that type of explosiveness and Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner also getting pulled in Game 3, expect goals early and often tonight.
