For the first time ever, Las Vegas is playing host to the NHL all-star weekend. The festivities got started last night with the skills competitions, and the action continues today with the All-Star Game. The format has switched to a 3-on-3 tournament, which means there will be plenty of ice space for these superstars to operate.
Given the exhibition nature of the event, betting on the NHL all-star tournament should be approached with caution. That being said, there is still some value out there if you are wanting to spice up the action. Here is a closer look at 2 of our best bets that are available for today’s action.
Metropolitan vs Pacific – Jonathan Marchessault to score 2+ goals (+285)
One are where value is presented is backing Jonathan Marchessault to score 2+ goals at +285. Marchessault has potted 20 goals in 41 games so far this season, and he is playing this All-Star Game alongside his teammate Mark Stone. Stone is more of a passer, so he could be looking to setup his fellow forward. Additionally, both guys could have a little bit of extra juice as they will be on their home ice and in front of their home fans.
Pacific vs Metropolitan – Leon Draisaitl to score 2+ goals / Pacific to win (+22o)
One unique aspect of betting the NHL All-Star Game is in the form of player performance doubles. In this bet, we are looking for Leon Draisaitl to score 2+ goals en route to a Pacific Division win. The Pacific has the most lethal one-two punch in Draisaitl and fellow Oiler Connor McDavid, and they could be looking to put on a show. Draisaitl is a former Art Ross Trophy winner, and this is his 3rd All-Star appearance. He lis 2nd in the league in points with 63, and he is also second in the league in goals with 32. He and McDavid have tremendous chemistry, and it seems likely that Draisaitl does some serious damage this afternoon.
