The regular-season finale is upon us. Week 18 of the 2023 NFL season will finalize the playoff field, so it doesn’t get any bigger than this for teams that are either in position to clinch a division title or secure a wild-card spot. There are, of course, a few clunkers on the schedule. However, there are also some blockbuster battles chock full of importance.

Pittsburgh Steelers ML (-194) over Baltimore Ravens
There are plenty of games this week involving one team that’s either out of it or locked into its playoff spot against another team that needs a win to either clinch a division title or wild-card spot. This is one of those games. Let’s roll with the side that cares.

Indianapolis Colts ML (+100) over Houston Texans
This has AFC South implications if Jacksonville loses to Tennessee. It feels like a 50-50 matchup to me, so I’ll take the team at home that is also at plus money.

Carolina Panthers ML (+198) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs had a chance to wrap up the NFC South last week at home against New Orleans, but they delivered a clunker. Now the pressure is on in Carolina. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tampa Bay chokes.

Jacksonville Jaguars ML (-190) over Tennessee Titans
This is a dangerous situation for Jacksonville, but if Trevor Lawrence plays the team with more on the line should get the job done.

Detroit Lions ML (-174) over Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota is still mathematically alive but needs a miracle. In reality you can pretty much stick a fork in them following their stinker against the Packers. The Lions are mad – and inspired.

New Orleans Saints ML (-166) over Atlanta Falcons
It’s borderline ridiculous that either one of these teams is still in division-title contention – but especially the Falcons. They have been massive underachievers this season. A loss in their finale would be fitting.

Cincinnati Bengals ML (-295) over Cleveland Browns
Cleveland will call off the dogs as it prepares for the playoffs. The Bengals also have nothing to play for, but they will want to send their home fans off with a victory.

New England Patriots ML (-126) over New York Jets
Bad news: the Patriots and Jets have one more game before they can make vacation plans. Good news: they have only one more game. Give me the Pats at home.

Green Bay Packers ML (-166) over Chicago Bears
Green Bay has come on strong in the second half of the season thanks in large part to Jordan Love’s hot streak. Count on the Packers securing their playoff spot.

Philadelphia Eagles ML (-225) over New York Giants
The Eagles have been a complete disaster of late. Nonetheless, they are still a much better team than their NFC East rival.

Seattle Seahawks ML (-146) over Arizona Cardinals
The Seahawks needs some help from Green Bay, but whatever the case they will be eager to satisfy their end of the bargain. As for the Cardinals, they have long since been eliminated.

Dallas Cowboys ML (-850) over Washington Commanders
From pretty much out of nowhere, Dallas suddenly controls into NFC East destiny. The Cowboys generally don’t fold until the playoffs, so they should get the job done at the end of the regular season.

Los Angeles Rams ML (+176) over San Francisco 49ers
The Rams are in as a wild card; the 49ers have already secured the NFC’s #1 seed. Who the heck knows what will transpire on Sunday? I’ll back the team that is well into plus money.

Kansas City Chiefs ML (+150) over Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers are not entirely hopeless now that Brandon Staley is out of town. Still, they aren’t good enough to beat the Chiefs – whatever version of the Chiefs we get this weekend.

Las Vegas Raiders ML (-158) over Denver Broncos
This is a matchup between 2 teams that are out of it. I expect the Raiders will play harder for Antonio Pierce than the Broncos will for Sean Payton.

Miami Dolphins ML (+134) over Buffalo Bills
Everyone seems to be on the Bills’ bandwagon, but I’ll go with the contrarian pick. Give me the Dolphins in front of their home fans in a winner-take-all battle for the AFC East on Sunday Night Football.
