Minnesota Vikings ML (+108) over Detroit Lions

It’s no typo, a 5-7 team is favored over a 10-2 team. Minnesota’s two losses this season have come by the Eagles and Cowboys — two of the best teams in football. However, the term “fraud” has been thrown around with the Vikings because of their below-average defense and their luck on offense. But let’s be honest, the Minnesota offense is dynamic and dangerous. Kirk Cousins has been accurate and calm in the pocket while arguably the best receiver in football, Justin Jefferson, runs his route. If Jefferson is covered, Cousins can elect to go to the always-reliable Mr. Minnesota, Adam Thielen, or newly acquired TJ Hockenson.

It also helps that Dalvin Cook is in the backfield and is one of the stronger runners in this league. On defense, the Vikings’ secondary isn’t great, but their defensive line looked completely different in their win over the Jets last week. This game could easily turn into a shootout, but it’s hard to ignore the value we’re getting on Minnesota.

Baltimore Ravens ML (+118) over Pittsburgh Steelers

The Ravens won their Week 13 matchup, but it came at a cost. Lamar Jackson is out for 1-3 weeks with a sprained PCL which means it is once again Tyler Huntley time in Baltimore. Huntley finished the game for the Ravens in Week 13 and went 27/32 for 187 yards. He also took off 10 times for 41 yards, including a touchdown that would win Baltimore the game. Huntley appeared in 7 games last season and started in 5 when Lamar Jackson was injured, and it’s clear that he is an above-average backup quarterback. He’s an accurate passer that will have roughly 10 rushing attempts each game, so he is fairly similar to Jackson. If Huntley can lead Baltimore to 20 or more points, that should be all they need for a win.

Pittsburgh’s offense has been terrible this entire season, and they were able to put up only 19 points against the Falcons, who allow the 9th most points per game and have one of the worst secondaries in football. The Ravens offense is more talented, so I’ll back them at plus odds.

Cincinnati Bengals -6.5 (+100) over Cleveland Browns

Deshaun Watson is back, but he doesn’t look ready. He was 12/22 for 131 yards and an interception in his first game back against the Texans. The Cleveland offense failed to score a point in their 27-13 win over Houston – a pretty amazing feat when you think about it. Their defense and special teams carried the team, but the concerning part is that Watson and the Cleveland offense failed to get any offense going against a defense that allows the 10th-most points per game.

As for the Bengals, they have won 4 games in a row and most recently took down the mighty Chiefs. They’ve put up 27 points or more in 5 of their last 7 games, while their defense has held teams to 21 points or less in 4 of their last 6 games. Cincinnati is 4-1 at home and is hitting their stride at the right time, so I’ll back them for a win by at least a touchdown as Watson continues to have growing pains.
