After a long and eventful offseason, the 2023 NFL season is finally here. The marathon battle for the Lombardi Trophy begins on Thursday with what should be an exciting contest between the Lions and Chiefs. Could we see an upset in Kansas City to open the season? It’s certainly possible.

These lines have been on the move for months, so we’ll analyze how they’ve changed for certain teams over the course of the offseason and if any teams are worth backing before the action kicks off. Current Super Bowl 58 winner odds

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Kansas City Chiefs (+600)
Philadelphia Eagles (+800)
Buffalo Bills (+1000)
Cincinnati Bengals (+1000)
San Francisco 49ers (+1000)
Dallas Cowboys (+1300)
New York Jets (+1800)
Baltimore Ravens (+1800)
Miami Dolphins (+2100)
Los Angeles Chargers (+2100)
Detroit Lions (+2100)
Miami Dolphins (+2100)
Jacksonville Jaguars (+2800)

To no one’s surprise, the Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl favorites once again as the defending champions are looking to win their third title over the last 5 seasons. Patrick Mahomes and company should be in the thick of the AFC #1 seed picture throughout the season, and the same can be expected of the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and other contenders in that conference. On the NFC side of things, there are plenty of reasons to like the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys this season, especially as there appears to be tumult over in San Francisco with the 49ers and their injury and quarterback concerns. Other teams such as the Chargers, Ravens and Jaguars have to fancy themselves as having an outside shot at winning it all.

Biggest Super Bowl 58 odds shifts

There has been plenty of movement in the Super Bowl odds market dating back to the spring. No team’s odds shifted more than the New York Jets, and there’s an easy explanation as to why. From opening odds of around 25/1 after this year’s Super Bowl, they had come down to 15/1 at most sportsbooks as the signing of Aaron Rodgers took place, before they eventually settled between 14-16/1 at many outlets over the summer as the season neared. Teams like the Bills and Ravens moved down slightly from their February numbers at the open, while the Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins have seen some major action, moving up to 30/1 and 21/1 respectively heading into the season.

Over in the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers were the biggest movers in the Super Bowl 58 odds from February until today, with both teams sliding down the board. For the Packers, Aaron Rodgers’ departure and the emergence of Jordan Love now puts Green Bay at +4000 to win the Lombardi Trophy. The same can’t be said of the Rams, as this is expected to be a difficult season in Los Angeles for the Super Bowl 56 champions. Sean McVay’s group currently sits at 65/1 to win the Super Bowl, among the likes of Washington Commanders and Las Vegas Raiders.
