Miami Dolphins ML (-148) over New England Patriots
These AFC East rivals had very different outcomes in Week 1. The Dolphins took down the Chargers in a shootout in Los Angeles while the Patriots played their hearts out to keep up with the Eagles. I think the oddsmakers are overestimating the Patriots following their Week 1 loss because they lost by less than a touchdown to the defending NFC champions. However, it was raining for a good part of the game in Foxborough and Jalen Hurts wasn’t able to throw the ball as much as he wanted. That kept the Patriots in the game until the second half when Hurts was able to find DeVonta Smith downfield.
Tua Tagovailoa was incredibly impressive in Week 1. He finished with 466 passing yards and 3 touchdowns against the Chargers as his accuracy looked far better than it was last season. Maybe that’s because he wasn’t getting pounded into the ground constantly like last season. Regardless, I think Tagovailoa can build on that performance. With the elite weapons he has in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins should be able to win this game by at least a touchdown. Oh, and the Patriots are 0-5 against the spread in their last 5 games as a home underdog.

Tyreek Hill to score a touchdown (+110)
One of the best offensive performances of Week 1 was by Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins superstar hauled in 11 catches on 15 targets for 215 yards while also finding the end zone twice. It’s clear that Hill is Tagovailoa’s favorite target, far more than Jaylen Waddle, Braxton Berrios or any other receiver. Whenever the Dolphins made it to the red zone or even remotely close to the end zone, Tagovailoa targeted Hill. Admittedly, the Patriots’ secondary is far better than Los Angeles’, but Hill’s speed makes him just as dangerous. Miami is going to rely on the passing game all night, and the main beneficiary of that should be Hill. I’m backing him to find the end zone at least once on Sunday Night Football.

Ezekiel Elliott to score a touchdown (+260)
Maybe Ezekiel Elliott isn’t as washed up as we thought! The former Cowboys running back didn’t have the biggest game for the Patriots in his debut, but he certainly made the most of his opportunities. Zeke had 7 carries for 29 yards while also catching 5 passes for 14 yards in New England’s loss to the Eagles in Week 1. It’s fair to say that he was used a lot more frequently than most expected, and he should continue to get opportunities when the Patriots are in the red zone. Rhamondre Stevenson is a very talented back who will get the majority of the carries for the Patriots, but he doesn’t get used as much in the red zone. In fact, he scored only 5 times last season while getting the majority of the carries all season. If the Patriots rush for a touchdown, my guess is it will be via Zeke.
