Week 5 was another eventful weekend of games across the NFL, and this week should be no different. To close out the Sunday portion of the Week 6 slate we are getting back on the Same Game Parlay train, this one for an NFC East battle between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. With kickoff set for 8:30 pm ET on NBC, it’s time to forecast the action.

Here is our SGP, but also be sure to check out our NFL picks on the side and total for every Week 6 matchup.

Philadelphia Eagles -6 (-110)

Over 42.5 (-105)

Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown scorer (+115)

Parlay odds: +427

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. However, it actually adds more value if you can predict the game script that both teams will want to play. In this instance, I’m projecting this to be a great spot for the Eagles to win at home over an overmatched opponent. Let’s break down each of these legs one by one.

Philadelphia Eagles -6 (-110) over Dallas Cowboys

You will be hearing a lot this week about how Cowboys QB Cooper Rush is 5-0 straight up and against the spread as a starter. That’s all well and good, but the level of defenses he’s played has been average or below average. The Cowboys scored only 20 points against the Bengals, which was the only top 10 defense Rush faced all year. It goes without saying that this will be a big step up in class on the road for Rush in a hostile environment against an Eagles defense ranked 3rd in schedule adjusted efficiency.

On the other side, the Eagles will be tasked with controlling Micah Parsons and a Dallas front that leads the league in pass-rush win rate. However, Jalen Hurts has compiled 1,322 rushing yards and 19 TDs through his first 24 games, so he is equipped to handle the pressure. Hurts has developed into an MVP candidate and it’s easy to see why. The issue with defending this Eagles team is you can’t focus too much on Hurts because of the dangerous weapons that the Eagles have on the outside. Philadelphia has the better quarterback, a strong offensive line and better weapons on the outside. Back the Eagles here.

Over 42.5 (-105)

These games have historically sailed over the total of late. Last year’s 2 games produced a combined 139 points, with the Cowboys finishing off the Eagles in blowout wins. This means that neither team will be afraid to run up the score given the chance. I think Hurts’ legs have been the toughest part of the Eagles’ offense to defend against this season, and that should continue here. The pace of play will likely lead to plenty of opportunities for scoring for both sides.

Additionally, both teams are getting healthier on the outside, with Michael Gallup starting to contribute for Dallas. Gallup is joining a duo of CeeDee Lamb and and Noah Brown that has been very effective in the red zone this season. The Eagles are no slouch, as they have weapons all over the field for Hurts to find. Considering the high-scoring nature of this rivalry in recent years and the talent on both teams, it’s hard not to back the over on a relatively low number.

Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown scorer (+115)

To close out this Same Game Parlay, we’re going with Hurts to find the endzone. Hurts has been outstanding in his second full season as a starter in all areas. But where he’s most deadly is on the ground, tallying 5 rushing touchdowns this season through 5 games. What’s more is Hurts has 68 rushing attempts, as he continues to be a major focal point in the Eagles’ offensive plan. With touchdowns hard to come by against the Dallas defense this season, Hurts could turn to his legs in the red zone when presented with the opportunity. I like him to score once again.
