Saturday Night Football here in the NFC as the Green Bay Packers host the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers don’t have any playoff hopes, but they’d sure love to make a statement here in primetime in front of a national audience. The Packers on the other hand need this one as they look to shore up the top seed and lone first-round bye in the conference.

This is a standalone primetime game, and one way of making it even more exciting is by betting a same game parlay. We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview. If you’re new to same game parlays and want to find out more, be sure to check out our handy guide, which details how they work and which sportsbooks currently offer them.

Carolina Panthers ML (+320)

Over 52 (-110)

Teddy Bridgewater to score a touchdown (+500)

Parlay odds: +3009

The benefit of same game parlays is that you can put together plays that correlate with each other. I think the Panthers have a very good chance to pull off the upset here, and if they do then the other two plays are much more likely to cash. Let’s dive into them one by one.

Carolina Panthers ML (+320)

The Panthers are the type of team that is great as an underdog and not so great as a favorite. They’ve already pulled off some upsets this year, and they’ve come very close on several more. They were missed last-second field goal attempts away from beating the Chiefs and Vikings, and tying the Saints at the end of that game. Matt Rhule has injected new life into this franchise, and he has his guys playing incredibly hard. As such, they aren’t the type of team to roll over once they’re out of playoff contention. The Packers aren’t as good as their record might suggest, and they only have one win all season against a team that’s not below .500 and that came all the way back in Week 3.

Over 52 (-110)

If the Panthers are going to win this game, it’s going to be because their offense had a very good day, not in some sort of defensive struggle. The Packers’ offense has been elite, and I think Rhule knows if he wants to win he’s going to have to be aggressive and try to outscore Green Bay. The Packers have been incredibly consistent on offense, scoring at least 30 points in each of their last four games. Their defense on the other hand has been quite vulnerable, and creative Carolina OC Joe Brady has to be licking his chops to scheme against it. The Panthers have scored 27 in back to back weeks, including against a tough Denver defense last week. As long as the weather stays clear, I think the total goes over easily.

Teddy Bridgewater to score a touchdown (+500)

If the Panthers win, and if it’s a high scoring game, then that almost certainly means Teddy Bridgewater had a big game. He now has a rushing touchdown in three of his past four games, so getting +500 here is a steal. The weakness of Green Bay is their run defense, which gives up 4.6 yards per carry, so I think Brady will draw up some designed runs for Bridgewater as well. Bridgewater has been much more of a consistent running threat this season than he ever was during his time with the Saints or Vikings, but I don’t think most people have realized it yet.
