The Minnesota Vikings certainly had playoff aspirations heading into 2021, and really every team still does only two weeks into a 17-week season. But they are already 0-2, so one more loss on the trot would be an unmitigated disaster. There probably isn’t any coming back from 0-3. It’s a hole that won’t be easy to avoid, as the Seattle Seahawks are up next on Sunday. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Seahawks-Vikings, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.

Seattle Seahawks ML (-134)

Tyler Lockett Over 73.5 receiving yards (-113)

DK Metcalf to score a touchdown (-130)

Adam Thielen to score a touchdown (-130)

Parlay odds: +1363

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Tyler Lockett racking up a bunch of receiving yards and DK Metcalf finding the endzone would obviously work well with a Seattle win. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with betting on Minnesota receiver Adam Thielen to score a touchdown. But even if Thielen does that, there is no reason why the Seahawks can’t get the job done. Let’s break down each of the four legs one by one.

Seattle Seahawks ML (-134)

Minnesota remains winless following an overtime loss at Cincinnati and a 34-33 setback against Arizona. Although the Vikings have been competitive, this may not be the spot in which they go from just getting close to getting over the hump. Running back Dalvin Cook is expected to play in Week 3, but is banged up with an ankle issue. On the other side of the ball, Patrick Peterson (undisclosed) in questionable and linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) is out. Things are going better for the Seahawks even though they suffered an OT loss of their own last weekend (33-30 to Tennessee). That isn’t a terrible result against a solid Titans team, and it was preceded by a 28-16 victory at Indianapolis. Clearly this Seattle squad doesn’t mind playing away from home. Russell Wilson is averaging almost 300 passing yards per game and has 6 touchdowns through the air without being picked off.

Tyler Lockett Over 73.5 receiving yards (-113)

This is a low number for Lockett and there is no reason to overthink it. His two yardage totals this season are 100 yards and 178 yards. He compiled the latter number on 8 receptions (11 targets) at the Titans’ expense last weekend. There is no reason to think anything will be different against a Vikings defense that has been mediocre at best so far. They are seventh to last in passing defense and have surrendered 5 passing TDs.

DK Metcalf to score a touchdown (-130)

For obvious reasons, Metcalf is Wilson’s favorite target in the redzone. If you want me to spell it out for you, Metcalf is 6’4’’ and 235 pounds. Even when he doesn’t get separation, he can outmuscle defensive backs in the endzone (and everywhere else on the field). But normally he does get separation! After all, the former Ole Miss star also possess great speed. After scoring 10 TDs last year, Metcalf has already found paydirt once in 2021.

Adam Thielen to score a touchdown (-130)

This game projects to be a shootout (the total is set and 55), so a bunch of different guys can be expected to get in on the fun. You have to think Thielen will be one of them. Minnesota’s veteran receiver has already scored in both games this season, including twice in Week 1 against Cincinnati. Trough two outings Thielen has 15 receptions on 17 targets. Seattle’s defense just got carved up in the overtime loss to Tennessee, and more of the same should transpire in this one.
