The Pittsburgh Steelers will be trying to get back on the winning track when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals for an AFC North showdown on Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh had been 4-0-1 in its previous 5 contests before losing to the Chargers 41-37 in Week 11. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Steelers vs Bengals, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.
Steelers ML (+160)
Najee Harris Over 27.5 receiving yards (-114)
Ja’Marr Chase to score a touchdown (-105)
Parlay odds: +1009
Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Najee Harris racking up a fair amount of receiving yards would obviously work well with a Pittsburgh win. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Ja’Marr Chase to find the endzone. But even if Chase does, there is no reason why the Steelers can’t get the job done. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Steelers ML (+160)
If there was ever a loss that did not evaporate momentum, Pittsburgh’s recent one against Los Angeles was it. The Steelers trailed by 17 points in the fourth quarter before storming back and taking the lead, only to see the Chargers score what proved to be the game-winning touchdown with 2 minutes left. Ben Roethlisberger and company have to feel good about how they responded to a slow start. Obviously the defense underwhelmed in that game, but TJ Watt is expected to return for this one. Cincinnati is coming off a win over Las Vegas squad, but it had previously lost to the Jets and then to Cleveland by a 41-16 margin. Joe Burrow has thrown 11 interceptions this year. The Bengals won the previous encounter between these rivals, but the Steelers are playing better now and this should be a typical AFC North slugfest. An outright upset would hardly be much of a surprise.
Najee Harris Over 27.5 receiving yards (-114)
Harris has exceeded this quota in 3 of the last 5 games and in 6 of the last 9. There absolutely no reason to think why those percentages wouldn’t continue against the Bengals. After all, when these two rivals met earlier in the year Harris hauled in an amazing 14 passes on an eye-popping 19 targets for 102 yards. Getting the Alabama product at this receiving number is a clear steal.
Ja’Marr Chase to score a touchdown (-105)
How can we still get Chase at almost even money to score a touchdown?!?! H has 8 TDs on the year and he has scored in 3 of the past 4 games. It is also worth noting that the star rookie out of LSU has been targeted a total of 38 times during this stretch, so he always has chances and he generally capitalizes on them. Pittsburgh’s passing defense is nothing special and Joe Haden is questionable, so another big day at the office should be in store for Chase.
