Aaron Rodgers back in a Week 1 installment of Monday Night Football as starting quarterback for the New York Jets? What could possibly go wrong?! On the opening Week 1 MNF game of 2023, Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles tendon on the first drive with his new team. One year later, he is presumably healed up and ready to go up against the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers. Let’s break down my Jets vs 49ers Same Game Parlay picks for Monday Night Football, which get underway at 8:15 pm ET on ABC. Also, be sure to check out our full Jets vs 49ers predictions on the side and total.

49ers -6.5 alternate spread (+128)

George Kittle to score a touchdown (+195)

Aaron Rodgers Over 235.5 receiving yards (-113)

Jets vs 49ers Same Game Parlay odds: +949

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as San Francisco tight end George Kittle finding the endzone would obviously work well with a big win by the 49ers. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Rodgers to rack up his fair share of passing yards. But even if he does, there is no reason why the Niners can’t take care of business. Let’s break down each leg of our Jets vs 49ers Same Game Parlay.

San Francisco 49ers -6.5 alternate spread over New York Jets (+128)

There are too many question marks for me to feel good about the Jets. Just like last season – until the first drive of the first game, that is – expectations are high in New York. The rest of the roster is strong, and the hope is that a former MVP at QB is the missing puzzle piece. However, a 40-year-old coming off a torn Achilles’ with no games under his belt – not even in the preseason – does not inspire much confidence. There was a similar situation on Sunday afternoon involving Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons and we all saw how that turned out. The Jets could be pretty good. The 49ers are really good. San Francisco finally got a deal done with Brandon Aiyuk, so an offense with Aiyuk, Kittle, Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Brock Purdy is absolutely loaded. I just think the Niners have too much for the Jets, and with home-field advantage, they should be in line for a win by at least a touchdown.

George Kittle to score a touchdown (+195)

There is nothing Kittle loves more than a primetime game on national television. He loves the spotlight, and he will be in it again on Monday. Kittle has a knack for the endzone regardless of the situation, so you really have to like his chances to produce on a Monday night. Last season the star tight end racked up 1,020 receiving yards to go along with 16 touchdowns. Moreover, the Jets allowed the 7th-most fantasy points to tight ends in 2023, and could be vulnerable as Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed focus on Aiyuk and Samuel.

Aaron Rodgers Over 235.5 passing yards (-113)

Rodgers recording a decent amount of yards through the air actually doesn’t clash too much with San Francisco winning by at least a touchdown. After all, if New York is playing from behind it means they will have to take to the air. Regardless, Rodgers should be able to put up some good numbers. The 49ers were in the middle of the pack in passing defense last year while finishing #3 against the run. In 5 of his last 6 healthy seasons, Rodgers has thrown for more than 4,000 yards. Does he still have it 40 years old? That remains to be seen. Even if he’s close to still having it, exceeding a modest 235.5 number should not be too much to ask.
