Green Bay Packers -14 over New Orleans Saints (-110)

While Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler had a great showing last Sunday against the Commanders, there’s a reason why Green Bay is heavily favored in this game. The Packers are back at Lambeau Field after a dominant victory over the Seahawks in Seattle. But even in front of their home fans, the Seahawks couldn’t stop Matt LaFleur’s masterful game plan, as Jordan Love and the Packers’ offense outgained the Seahawks 21-14 in first downs and 369 to 208 in total yards. It’s clear that Green Bay is clicking at the right time and this Packers team is deadly at Lambeau, a home field where they’ve only lost to the Lions and Vikings this season. It’s easy to see why some professional bettors would take the Saints as massive underdogs in this spot, but we have a hard time backing a rookie quarterback on the road in what’s expected to be a blisteringly cold day in Wisconsin. At the end of the day, the market is taking a very clear position on this game, and we’re inclined to agree.

Under 42.5 (-105)

With conditions expected to be pretty unpleasant on Monday, it’s hard not to look at the under in this one. Cold and windy conditions typically means that both passing games will likely struggle, which is something that we’ve seen time and again in NFL games in recent years. And despite his strong performance down the stretch in last week’s loss, Rattler hasn’t had much experience in these conditions, especially since he played college football at South Carolina and Oklahoma. It can be expected that New Orleans will rely on its ground attack in this game, and Green Bay should do the same. Green Bay is a top 10 rushing offense in yards per carry and yards per game, plus the Packers are also 2nd in the NFL in rush-play percentage (51.19%). This should be a fast-moving game with plenty of running clock, so let’s back the under while it’s still at this number.

Jordan Love to throw an interception (-105)

To close out our SGP for Monday’s NFC showdown, let’s back Jordan Love to throw an interception. The Packers quarterback has been extremely efficient in recent weeks, and many have pointed out that the change in offensive system from a pass-happy scheme to a more run-focused team has done wonders for the young QB. Love is undeniably very talented, but he certainly has a bit of Brett Favre in his game and that gunslinger mentality has continued into this season. In fact, Love threw a whopping 11 interceptions over his first 8 starts, with some of his mistakes proving to be costly against the likes of Minnesota and Detroit. And even though he has played very clean football over the last month (66.25% completion and 0 interceptions), I have my doubts that he can play mistake-free for much longer. We know that Love can make all of the throws, but he also has shown a tendency to be careless with the football. With that in mind, it’s hard to ignore this prop while it’s still priced at close to even money.
