Minnesota Vikings -7 over Chicago Bears (-102)

The first meeting between these teams was a close contest, but we don’t see this one being all that competitive. After last week’s embarrassing loss to the 49ers, in which Chicago only gained 4 yards in the first half, the only way to go is up for this Bears team that is in the midst of a tailspin. With that said, it’s hard not to question their motivation at 4-9. The organization itself is marred, a franchise that typically underwhelms and disappoints each season, despite rotating new coaches and adding new players on what feels like a yearly basis. It can’t help but feel like this has been a lost season for Caleb Williams, with a Bears offense that has been stuck in the mud and the Chicago defense couldn’t stop the hobbled 49ers last week either. What do they think is going to happen against a much stronger Minnesota offense? Expect the Vikings to prevail by at least a touchdown.

Over 43.5 (-110)

The Bears’ offense is nothing to write home about, ranking inside the bottom 5 in numerous statistical categories this season. However, one thing Chicago can take advantage of is breaking down a Minnesota pass defense that gives up plenty of yards but typically holds up in the red zone. As improbable as it sounds, there are scoring drives to be had for the Bears. As for the Vikings, this is an offense that is clicking on all cylinders of late. Led by the red-hot Sam Darnold at quarterback, Minnesota averages 8.6 yards per pass, which ranks second only behind Cincinnati this season. Chicago, meanwhile, allows 7.9 yards per pass, a weakness that burned its chances of stealing a victory in the first meeting, as Darnold was 22-of-34 for 322 yards on 8.6 yards per completion. Minnesota is at home and could end up scoring at will in this game, and so we’ll side with the better offense to carry this game Over the total.

T.J. Hockenson over 43.5 receiving yards (-113)

To close out our SGP for Monday’s NFC North matchup, let’s go with T.J. Hockenson to clear his receiving yards prop. It hasn’t quite been the season many were expecting from Hockenson, but a lot of that has to do with the strange nature of his season after returning from an extended injury absence. Where the Minnesota tight end did shine is in the first meeting against the Bears, where he grabbed 7 receptions for 114 yards in what was easily his best game of the season to this point. We just saw the Bears’ pass defense get absolutely shredded a week ago over the middle, and there’s no reason why Hockenson can’t succeed in that role as Darnold’s security blanket. I’d look for Hockenson to rack up 5 catches in this game, which should lead to at least 50 yards through the air on Monday Night Football and help us get to the window with our Bears vs Vikings Same Game Parlay.
