The Kansas City Chiefs are not used to being winless – not even after just a single week – and they will have a chance to find the win column for the first time during this 2023 campaign when they visit the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. On the bright side for the Chiefs, they will be playing on plenty of rest after competing on Thursday Night Football in Week 1 when they lost 21-20 to the Detroit Lions. Jacksonville is 1-0 after opening with a 31-21 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

What will transpire in this rematch of last season’s divisional-round showdown? Here is my Same Game Parlay for the game, which kicks off at 1:00 pm ET on CBS. Also be sure to check out our full Chiefs vs Jaguars predictions.

Chiefs -5.5 alternate spread over Jaguars (+122)

Isiah Pacheco to score a touchdown (+140)

Trevor Lawrence over 251.5 passing yards (-114)

Parlay odds: +641

One of the benefits of Same Game Parlays, of course, is that you can correlate all of the plays that are involved. That is some of the plan here, as Isiah Pacheco scoring a touchdown would obviously work well with a big win for the Chiefs. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing Trevor Lawrence to rack up his fair share of passing yards. But even if he does, there is no reason why Kansas City can’t take care of business. Let’s break down each of the legs.

Chiefs -5.5 alternate spread over Jaguars (+122)

Patrick Mahomes did all he could to help the Chiefs win in Week 1, but the receiving corps did not hold up its end of the bargain. You can’t expect so many dropped passes in a second straight game, plus star tight end Travis Kelce will be back. Kansas City will be improved on the other side of the ball, too, as defensive tackle Chris Jones has ended his holdout. The Jaguars took care of Indianapolis 31-21 in their season opener, but they needed a 14-point fourth quarter in order to do so and the Colts aren’t any good. Jacksonville faced KC twice during the 2022 campaign and lost by at least a touchdown on both occasions. I expect more of the same on Sunday.

Isiah Pacheco to score a touchdown (+140)

Isiah Pacheco didn’t find the end zone last week, but I don’t think he will go two games in succession without scoring. I’m not envisioning Blake Bell and Rashee Rice once again taking touchdowns away from other guys – like Pacheco – in Kansas City’s offense. Kelce is back and will obviously be a prime red-zone target, but at the same time he will draw a lot of attention from Jacksonville’s linebackers and that could open the door for Pacheco. The second-year running back out of Rutgers scored in 4 of the last 7 regular-season games in 2022 and he also delivered a TD in the Super Bowl. At +140, Pacheco has good value.

Trevor Lawrence over 251.5 passing yards (-114)

This really doesn’t go against a Kansas City win and cover, because if the Jaguars are playing from behind it means Lawrence will be more likely to air it out. The 2021 #1 overall pick went over this 251.5 number in 4 of the last 8 regular-season contests in 2022 and he passed for 288 yards in his team’s famous wild-card win over the Chargers. Lawrence came close (241) last week even though he finished with just 32 pass attempts. New receiver Calvin Ridley got off to a fantastic start in Jacksonville with 8 catches, 101 yards and a touchdown and should help Lawrence’s numbers throughout the year.
