One game on the Week 16 slate that is safe from the wintry blast is the matchup between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium. With both teams eliminated from playoff contention thanks to their matching, if unimpressive, 4-10 records, there are at least several newsworthy storylines to follow and a Same Game Parlay makes the game (4:30pm ET, CBS) even more interesting, Here are the picks for my SGP, which pays out at +1399 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook at the time of publishing.

Denver Broncos -5.5 alternate spread (+124)

Baker Mayfield under 184.5 passing yards (-114)

Greg Dulcich anytime TD scorer (+360)

Denver Broncos -5.5 alternate spread (+124) over Los Angeles Rams

The Broncos offense will be back to normal this week with the return of starting QB Russell Wilson, and while normal service for the Denver offense has been frankly awful for most of the season, Wilson had never looked better in a Broncos uniform than he did when he was hurt in the 34-28 loss to the Chiefs. These teams are both languishing at the foot of their respective West divisions with 4-10 records, but while the Broncos are starting to show some flashes of progress, the Rams’ season continues to spiral.

Offensive stars Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp have been out of the equation for some time, and defensive leader Aaron Donald is on the sidelines too with an ankle injury and not expected to play again this season. The Broncos will have no excuses for not beating this version of the Super Bowl champions after their promising performance against Kansas City and win over the Cardinals last time out, and extending the spread to -5.5 to give this SGP some extra pop may not prove too risky.

Baker Mayfield under 184.5 passing yards (-114)

Baker Mayfield’s amazing debut showing for the Rams as he stepped off the plane from Carolina to engineer a game-winning drive against the Raiders was one of the highlights of the season, but he came crashing back down to earth in last week’s loss to the Packers. Even when their offense was stumbling around, the Broncos defense was playing well this season and they can give the former Browns and Panthers quarterback plenty of questions to answer.

Mayfield passed for an average of 187.6 yards per game with the Panthers this season, but managed only 111 in a full game against the Packers last week. Not only is he still learning his new team’s playbook, but he is working with a severely depleted receiving corps. Another tough passing day for the new Rams #17 would not be a surprise.

Greg Dulcich anytime touchdown scorer (+360)

Tight end Greg Dulcich has at times looked likely to emerge as a favorite target for Broncos QB Russell Wilson when everything is going well and he looks a likely candidate to score a touchdown against the Rams. Dulcich looked set to have a real breakout year when he was featured in the Broncos’ 21-17 win over the Jaguars in London, leading the team with 87 receiving yards.

The rookie’s seam-stretching potential led the team to completely sideline expected preseason starter Albert Okwuegbunam this season and Dulcich has shown us why. He has had 40+ receiving yards in 5 of his 9 starts, clearing 85 twice, and while his only score came in October against the Chargers, it seems only a matter of time before he is in the end zone again. Dulcich had only 2 targets with backup QB Brett Rypien starting last week, but had seen 8 targets from Wilson in each of the previous 2 games, with 9 receptions for 127 yards.
