Since I unfortunately never had LeBron James' jumping ability I wasn't able to make it to the NBA, and chose writing about sports as the next best thing. The NFL Week 4 slate is here, and with it we have the first London game of the season as the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars will do battle across the pond. What better way to celebrate a standalone game than by betting a Same Game Parlay? Here we go:

Atlanta Falcons -2.5 (+190)

Desmond Ridder to throw for 250+ yards (+520)

Parlay odds: +1756

We have a 2-leg Same Game Parlay which pays out at north of 17/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s break it down.

Atlanta Falcons -2.5 (+190)

This is as much a fade of the Jaguars as it is an endorsement of the Falcons. Jacksonville picked up an unimpressive win over the Colts in Anthony Richardson’s first start back in Week 1 and has looked dreadful ever since. The Jaguars mustered just nine points in a Week 2 loss, and then got the brakes beat off them by an 0-2 Texans team last week. Calvin Ridley returned from suspension with a bang in Week 1, but he has failed to top 40 yards in back-to-back weeks now.

And that’s to say nothing of the defense, which just got torched by a rookie in CJ Stroud last Sunday. The Falcons have had an inconsistent passing game, but they are 2-1 and their only loss is on the road against a Detroit team that looks like a potential contender in the NFC. Atlanta made some great signings on defense this offseason, adding proven veterans like Calais Campbell and David Onyemata to set the tone.

In the Jags’ only win of the season, they were trailing entering the fourth quarter against a rookie making his first career start. Bijan Robinson is coming off a quiet game, but that’s only because the Falcons got down early to the Lions and had to abandon the run. Robinson is still averaging a stellar 5.5 yards per carry, and I expect him to resume dominating here.

Desmond Ridder to throw for 250+ yards (+520)

If there was ever a spot for Desmond Ridder to step up and silence some doubters, it’s this one. The second-year pro has been written off as a passer, and now he’s playing in a nationally televised game with a chance to prove everybody wrong. This is a great spot for him to get right because the Jags have had one of the league’s worst pass defenses this year. Jacksonville has played against rookie quarterbacks in 2 of their 3 games, and their metrics still look terrible.

Just last week they let Stroud throw for 280 yards on only 30 attempts against them, a cool 9.3 yards per attempt. The week before they gave up over 300 yards to Patrick Mahomes. Ridder has been a bit of a disappointment so far this season, but now is the time to buy low against a sieve of a pass defense.

The Falcons have all the talent at the skill positions necessary for Ridder to have a big day here, and it’s only a matter of time before Drake London and Kyle Pitts get going.
