I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. Last night was Aaron Judge’s first opportunity to break the AL home record with 62 homers. Although he wasn’t able to do so, he still has 6 games left in the season. He tied former-Yankee Roger Maris with 61 on Wednesday and will almost certainly be winning the AL MVP this season. He and the rest of the Bronx Bombers will be taking on the Orioles once against today in an early afternoon matchup. Along with this Aaron Judge breakdown, be sure to check out our MLB picks for all of today’s games.

Aaron Judge vs. Austin Voth: Will Aaron Judge hit a home run?

Although Judge was unable to break the record last night, he’s still enjoyed facing the Orioles. He’s hitting .400 against them, including 9 of his home runs. Tonight he’ll be facing O’s starter Austin Voth. He began the year in the bullpen and has not had a start against the Yankees. In fact, he has inexplicably avoided pitching against New York the entire year. That’s surprising given they are divisional opponents, and makes this matchup a bit more of an unknown.

As for Voth overall, he’s certainly no ace, but also hasn’t been a terrible option for the O’s this season. He allowed 1 home run in just 2 of his 5 starts last month, and held the AL-best Astros to just a single run in 2 separate starts within a month-long span. When Judge faced a new starter against the Pirates last week, he also didn’t have his best game. With double-digit winds blowing in at Yankee Stadium for this afternoon’s game, this may not be Judge’s best opportunity.

How to bet on Aaron Judge’s props tonight

Just because the matchup and conditions aren’t perfect doesn’t mean Judge doesn’t have a chance at all. He’s proven time and time again he can hit homers at will. However, this would be a day where it should be kept to odds boosts. PointsBet Sportsbook offered one last night and we will update this article as they become available.

It’s also worth noting that if you’re able to watch the game live, that can provide betting opportunities as well. If the O’s continue to pitch around him and not give him much to hit, a walk/HBP prop could be in play. If that’s not a possibility, then a pre-game play on his home run should preferably only be with an odds boost. With this being an early afternoon game, be sure to check back with all of our MLB analysis for the latest updates.
